I don't see an issue with that personally, many European cities already tax visitors with the good old 'city tax', so another £6 lumped on hardly breaks the bank It's just stupid that the UK hasn't been doing it for years, hopefully easily fixed and something they can implement fairly quickly, with 39m visitors to the uk each year then a £10 tourist / visitor visa tax could go some way to supporting the various needs of UK tax payers.
Ok, so apparently you're best off trying to ship parcels to the eu for Christmas by the end of October. Yes that's right, the complications and pressures of standing in a post office and speaking to the person behind the counter, whilst uttering words to describe the contents and value of what present you're sending is likely to be too great for many. I can only assume that online transactions of a similar nature will be far too taxing, however will we ship anything to other countries again? Be brave guys...... https://inews.co.uk/news/brexit/no-deal-brexit-latest-christmas-presents-october-31-deadline-delays/
I was reading a article about the German economy and it's about to go into recession due in large to the Brexit uncertainties what's the betting all the issues will now be resolved and we leave the EU on time with a deal , Macron will be told to toe the line the other EU leader's don't have a spine between them
Guys, with the greatest respect, can we keep the Brexit talk out of the Scotty-dog thread, please? (See? Politeness costs nothing.)
I reckon it'll be no deal as the EU are so convinced that remain politicians will find a way to stop, or reverse the decision, whether we technically leave or not.
BoJob is setting things up to betray a real exit from the EU. You'll see. WA sans Backstop is still Remain in all but name. If that is what BoJob is aiming for, he can FO all the way back to FO City. Then -bring on the Brexit Party.
Whatever happens Germany won't let it effect them I can hear the Panzer's warming there engine's Channel ports by 1st September
To be honest, I had never, ever heard of "Scottish" being used to describe a human being - as an insult, term of affection or legitimate alternative to Scot/Scottish. When it first came up here in the forum, it seemed like goofy fun. There were a few objections but having been called a "yank" for much of my life, I didn't take the objections terribly seriously. Not even the circus pub bit, which seemed a little schoolboyish and only made me more determined to goof-off on it. Still, as I've said before, the "Scottish" gag, like most forum gags, has run its course for me. It's going to be "Scotty-dogs", from here on in.
Johnson to meet Macron as French president downplays backstop hopes https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49427007 Last minute ‘solution’ to the backstop and the U.K. gets a Johnson deal (ie remain). Still think it’s a game to the politicians.
In my travels, to my face I've been called 'Gwailo' in China, 'Pome' in Australia, 'Limey' in US, 'Rostbif' in France, 'Inglisee' in Syria, 'Brit' in Ireland and 'English' in Scotland (OK...the last 2 were closely followed by 'Bastard'). All were well known (locally) to be potentially offensive to me.......I just find it funny Edit...I was also called something I think 'not nice' in Wales. But it contained no vowels, so I disregarded it
I'm Scottish through and through, well apart from the part which came from my paternal grandmothers family who hailed from Kent - that part must be Gin
Whats the line -for you- between leaving with a deal being remain and leaving with a deal being OK? What specific things do you need Brexit to comprise of that would prove to you it wasn't really (a secret or trick) "remain"?
