British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Nothing, I was being facetious of Alan's tongue in cheek question :D
I don't really see any way out of this particular clusterfuck as we have created such deep division it isn't going to get better any time soon regardless of what the Brexit outcome may be; whatever outcome the union is unlikely to survive which will bring other issues and other divisions, etc.
Cameron should be locked up in the first instance

  2. I still think it comes down to the basic arguments

Remain - Keep things as they are.

Leave - Things might get better.

Perhaps it was sad that more people wanted to take the 'risk' that things could get better.

  3. maybe they would of, for some parts of the country, with a norway style canada + type. but, they never said that was on offer...

  4. Please don't use the catch phrase 'things could get better' it brings back terrible memories for Blair's first election victory and constant playing of D'reams 'things can only get better' very disturbing memories ;)

  5. Are you seriously suggesting that "Remain" means "keeping things as they are"?

Or are you doing a @Harry Bell on me and sticking his tongue in your cheek?

    : o D

  6. Watching Anna Soubrey on TV at the moment.

Apparently 48% (Of those who voted) voted Remain, and 52% (Of those who voted) voted Remain unless there’s an agreed deal she feels is acceptable.

    Que?

  9. Leave my tongue out of it please - that won't make things better
AL - remain would only keep things as they are if it included a special time machine - Pandora's box has been opened

  10. if the inexorable process of dissolving the sovereign UK state to be subsumed - legislatively, militarily and economically - into a Federal Europe is maintaining the status quo, then I'll accept that Remain = Keeping things as they are.

  11. That doesn't include a time machine - can't work without one

  12. That was the basic argument.

My view is that things won’t stay the same if the U.K. stays in the Eu. Buts that’s just my view.

There is a time machine. How do you think we have got to where we are without one?

  14. Calm down, Alan, you sound hysterical. And maybe a little racist, too.

  18. It looks like Boris means business, prorougueing parliament according to today's news.

  19. Are you seriously suggesting that "Remain" means "keeping things as they are"?.

that's an honest question. the 2014 No vote has allowed the UK to take it as permission to take the piss. mostly because we have no Veto. (as a convention we do) but that gets ignored and is part of the piss taking process. so, reletivly speaking, things would of stayed the same.
but if the UK leaves then attepts to rejoin........

  20. It has every appearance of such but it can still all be pure theatre. I won't believe any of it until 1 November. Probably not even then.
