British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. few letters change fin and you could apply that to sturgeon who stood unaposed when the election started, what's your point? he is the leader, is trying to do what May failed to do whilst the opposition are now seeking further delays to make it to 4 years since the vote and still not a single person in power is making this peoples vote happen because government are refusing the vote of the people

  2. When "Jack" is 65 million and you are asked to carry out a majority peoples democratic vote that the entire parliament agreed to have, then someone who dislikes the vote is always going to say "Jack".

I haven't said I want an alright jack society, I have said I expect a democratic peoples majority vote to be respected and not sabotaged by the very people who asked us the question. Parliament is the problem, it's too close to the eu and not close enough to it's people and that sir is why populism is on the rise.

  4. she was opposed. truthless stood against her.
that's another lie straight from the bojo. the FM is elected by MSP's in a parliament with an electoral system designed to avoid majority Govs. she won that election. handsomely.

  5. Ah but it was only 17m that voted to leave.........the other 48m didn’t vote to leave.

    But you know that anyway.

  6. In the national election yes fin, in the party one, no.

  7. of course I do, my grandkids at 5 and 8 aint allowed a vote silly as with most under 18 :D

they are turning the scrambler into a hill climber so striping it all down

  8. You referred to 65m thereby including everyone under 18 years of age, not me.

Seriously.........have you thought of a career in politics? You’d do well in today’s political climate. :)

  9. not national. parliamentary. the parliament elects the FM.

  10. Unfortunately you can't single out BoJo in your argument because 99.9% of MP's are in it for themselves. You just have to choose the one who you think is going to benefit you the most and that is the bottom line whichever end of the scale you are on.

Anyone who says they voted for the majority even knowing it would penalise them is a liar. I have a social conscience but not at my expense!

  11. I refered to 65 million as compared to the 110 employees you mentioned, there is likely you will have a greater amount of he's doing it just for his own benefit, which I'm sure even with just 110 employee's, you might have just had the one or two who applied it to yourself because no one climbs a ladder without out some level of self interest.

I've met enough politicians to know two things. most start off well intentioned, and they have never earned enough for me to consider it :D

  12. So, you’d not consider being a politician because

    A. You don’t have good intentions
    B. You are greedy and want shit loads of money

Fair play to you............at least you’re honest about it. :)

  13. with his love for boris there would of been less chance of him being sacked as was the way in the real world tho.

  14. A I have good intentions but have never sought to go upwards without some element of it being beneficial to me also,
B I never said I wanted to earn shit loads of money, I said they have never earned enough for me to consider it.

Some jobs I have done well below the market rate and my ability because I have genuinely enjoyed it. I've also had jobs I haven't entirely enjoyed but the monetary value made them worth it.

But, this is all a smoke screen and fluff away from the topic.

Parliament and all of it's inhabitants used the full effect of parliament, the civil service, the electoral commission, the house of lords, the speakers office and even the legal entitlement of the eu legislation under article 50 as well as royal ascent, to ask the people as question that all of those same people said would be enacted upon

However, almost all of the above have spent the last 3 and a half years refusing to enact upon the very same thing they said they would. How is that respecting the vote by the people?

  15. Ian Blackford wins the biggest chump on Question Time tonight - wow what an absolutely appalling man
And Labour wins the most stupid with fanny Annie :joy:

  16. I lost count how many times he said "the people of Scotland" and also refused to say when the election date could be, whilst saying he wasn't trying to avoid one.Cock end

  17. And he interrupted everyone with his squealing then cried and stamped his trotters when he was interrupted

  18. and exe comes a close second to noob wining the most outstanding sycophant of the year award.
Anyway, having passed successfully through the Commons and the Lords, the bill is due to be signed into law by Liz at Balmoral on Monday. That means that the Prime Minister will have a legal obligation to ask the EU for an extension to Article 50. It is no longer a matter of political choice. It’s the law. And could be quoted as such by Adam IT’S THE LAW Tomkins. If LBJ is not actually dead in a ditch by the time of the EU Summit on 17 October, although quite possibly Dominic Cummings could help him with that, he will have no option but to either ask for an extension, or resign as Prime Minister.
Now the opposition parties have another motive for refusing a General Election until after the EU Summit meeting and a request for an extension to Article 50. If they continue to refuse him his wish for an early election, they can force him to have to choose between lying dead in a ditch, resigning, or asking the EU for an extension.
