Note the word,"possible". The Scottish government are not compelled to discriminate against English students,but EU law allows them to do it. So for those English students who cannot afford university tuition fees,it's a big Scottish two fingers 'cos they don't mind giving it away to anyone else from the EU,just you. Poor English students suffer but Westminster doesn't. Hardly the stuff of socialism is it? We don't like your government so the English citizen must suffer?
In reality it is sometimes harder for Scottish students to get a place at Scottish universities as they don't arrive with large cheques so it works both ways. The statement that Westminster doesn't suffer is telling though.
