British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. :astonished:

  2. Don’t you think the Tory party deserve more than a 3 word slogan? Maybe a bit more substance?

  3. You need to bear in mind that politics is currently nothing to do with Tories vs Labour, faux-right vs faux-left.

The divide is nationalist vs globalist and this divide crosses Party lines, even Right-Light lines, like they weren't there.

The Parties need to be broken up in a way the reflects the new reality of politics - if politicians are to be honest, honourable and if they are to serve the nation. Obviously this won't happen - politicians aren't truly interested in any of those things.

But by all means - keep voting.

  4. The SNP campaign with 2..........."Tories", "Westminster". :)

  5. That’s the point. We can’t keep voting, they won’t let us vote. Shysters.

  6. We are allowed to vote when our vote doesn't much matter.

Oh, except for that one time in June 2016 but that was a mistake. It doesn't count.

If our vote might actually change things ... then no, we aren't allowed a vote.

  7. During the 2016 referendum the leave campaign would shout “project fear” everytime the government outlined its view.

Don’t you think it would be interesting now that Vote Leave is the Government that they run another referendum with all the power of Whitehall behind their cause?

There is no guarantee another general election will resolve the issue. If this forum is anything to go by, I would expect people to go nuclear if it turned out the SNP were the votes that put Corbyn into power and revoked article 50. I wonder if the leavers campaign might be best served by another referendum?

  8. I would bet my mortgage, if I had one, in the FM winning a debate comfortably against the PM

  9. That's just the thing, it don't think you're meant to see it yet, it's all about timing and diversionary plays.

Genuinely, I think Johnson is happy to play the underdog take the kicking at the moment, get the general election underway, Farage will play his initial hand as though independent and at some point they'll both act as though they've had a coming together for the greater good of all leave voters, pool resources and wham..... Majority.

Reality is I reckon there has been some backroom strat discussions taken place and what we're seeing now is window dressing whilst the pieces are moved around the board

    OR

You're right.....BJ really has lost his shit and is playing a blinder for the eu.

    Exciting o_O

  10. Corbyn won't win enough seats for the SNP to help him.

  11. You are probably right. I think if the tories and the Brexit party cooperate they could win a GE comfortably. However, the tories are going to lose a lot of seats to the Lib Dem’s and all their Scottish seats. I can’t see fluffy standing again. His majority is about 200 and he has a big personal vote.

  12. Not a chance, she's a one trick pony. Boris can be quite good in these.

Of course it'll be 6 against 1, not just helmet head against Boris, so you'll never see a fair fight and she can hide in the crowd and take pot shots without much scrutiny. Actually make it 7 as the host will be in on the act.

You must have seen the Conservative leadership debates when Boris was given this treatment and came through. The previous GE debates when Farage was ganged up on by a crowd was much the same.

I'd put either of them up against any other leader of a party on a one to one basis. You are getting carried away with Theresa May's dire personality and ability to think on her feet. BoJo is a different animal. He certainly seems up for a fight over the past few days and the opposition look to be the ones running.

  16. This is what I cannot make my mind up about.

The fact that BoJob won through the Party leadership race to be placed in a head-to-head with Hunt makes no sense, bearing in mind the subsequent opposition from MPs he has faced within his own Party.
There is little appetite for No Deal amongst rank-and-file Tory MPs and it is my belief that Johnson could not have won through to the Party member ballot stage on a genuine No Deal platform.

Alternatively, it is possible that most Tory MPs haven't the slightest idea what they are doing ... in which case, it is also possible that a genuine Brexiteer is currently leader of the Tory Party.

    Crazy times!

  17. my goodness. the Brexit wheels have come off an your turning on your leader. but everybody beyond the wall was wrong when pointing out their duplicity and should quit with the negative vibes. your thrashing about like headless chickens man, how some of you manage to keep that tinfoil hats on is a mystery.
maybe, just maybe, your leader recognises you cant afford the Brexit they promised. this would of been plain sailing for you had there been a British party running Holyrood and Labour still dominating Scotland. what your seeing is a party exorcizing the powers and influence we always had in this union that the others could never admit.
    without this

  19. Hmm, The Sun, Mail, Express, Observer, Telegraph, Times very pro Tory. Guardian Mirror pro Labour though neither particularly supportive of Corbyn.

  20. of course they don't, he will implement much of his polices (taken from guess who) and the owners of those papers will have to pay.
