British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Interesting article but it’s all getting more and more farcical

This paragraph quoted below: do we really want the Clerk of the Scottish Court asking for article 50 to be extended? It would cause riots. It’s not worth it.

I feel like I have had my fun exposing the ridiculousness of

    1) easiest free trade deal
    2) Eu will collapse and give a deal
    3) NI border will be easily fixed

It’s time to move on and get on with the only way forward there is, which is no deal and then sort out the inevitable consequences when they come. And they will come. This can’t keep going on and on and on

“Now a new court case has been brought by Joanna Cherry, Jo Maugham, and the businessman Dale Vince who is funding the case. They have applied directly to the Court of Session to request it to make use of a power of the court called nobile officium, a power which is unique to Scots law. This is the power of the court to intervene directly in order to ensure that the law is fulfilled. The case will, if it is successful, mean that the clerk of a Scottish court could sign a letter to the EU requesting an extension to Article 50 if the Prime Minister refuses to obey the law and do so himself. Unlike the previous case, which was against the British Government, this latest case is against LBJ personally. It’s not clear what sanctions would be taken against the Prime Minister, we can but hope it’s to be strung up by his nobile officiums.

  10. Exactly the point I made this time yesterday.

It’s almost like BoJo can’t help himself. And like many other mediocrities who find their way into high office or positions beyond their competence purely by accident of birth, wealth and patronage, he’s not even very good at it (or anything else)

  11. Trouble is that the UK is now caught between a rock and a hard place because a hard border between Eire and NI might well also end up causing riots. And riots in that part of the world tend to then evolve into shootings and worse.

  16. The biggest problem is all the way through this, both houses said they will respect the vote. Then when we gave the houses the result 80% of them did not want, they have spent 3 years trying to block it.

The current lot in court cases all said they would respect the vote and the court cases are not about stopping brexit but those in the court cases are public in saying we want to stop brexit, snp, plaid cymru, lib dems, most of labour have all lied that this is not about stopping brexit

Those very same people have said of the result and the leavers, they didn't know what they voted for, no one voted to leave with no deal, they couldn't have known what they were voting for 3 years ago, they are not intelligent enough to understand the complexity, we need to challenge the peoples vote and protect the people from themselves.

However, in the next several weeks, you will have those same mp's knocking on your door asking you to vote for them and give them a £80k a year plus job for the next 5 years, because all of a sudden, they trust you and your vote

  17. after reading that, i guess they where right then.

  18. And I’m going to Belfast in a few weeks, and we are staying at the place which has the dubious honour of being the most bombed hotel in Europe. :worried:

  19. Good luck
