British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. You sure they didn't mean Jägerbombed? The do like a bit of the falling down water over there

  2. Agreed, but that’s what people voted for. Whatever we do it’s not going to be great.

I am seriously thinking of leaving

  3. Me too. As a lot of my work is “paper” based advisory/drafting work these days and so all I really need is a laptop and an internet connection, my plan was to relocate to either Holland or northern Italy some time in the next 5 years. I might well bring that forward though tbh I’ve not looked into whether it’s feasible now that free movement of workers will no longer be allowed.

Or I might just adopt that wanky “digital nomad” moniker and stay 3 months here, 3 months there on tourist visas.....walk the earth, meet people, get in adventures and draft Defences and Counterclaims.

  4. Same here. Switch back to design and work from a laptop but sail instead of walk

  5. I’d half considered buying a boat and just harbour hopping around the Med, but not only might internet connection be patchy more than a few hundred metres from land, I’ve been on a supposedly ocean going yacht and it was basically like being in something akin to a caravan crossed with the Waltzers fairground ride where you crap in a bucket.

We only went from Southampton to Cowes on a breezy/blustery day but it felt like an outtake from The Perfect Storm. So that was the end of that idea.

  6. Yes it can be bouncy out there.

The med is where I am thinking of. Most marinas have Wi-fi and last week off the Jurassic coast I was getting 20Mb/s. In Scotland I got 100Mb/s! Few users = great bandwidth. But you can’t work and sail at the same time, that’s for sure

But will need to dip out of the EU for 90 days every 90 days. So Croatia, Turkey, Gibraltar etc

The loss of freedom of movement

  8. Brittish indi? what happens now? because of the actions of the Brittish parliment and the British partys, rBrittain is set to get somewhat smaller

  9. I'm personally, you may have noticed, not that convinced fin. Sturgeons tactics of playing the U.K. off against the e.u. to keep getting more and more from the U.K. government will run out at some point and only then will she think the sponge is dry will she consider another indy vote

  10. more and more? what has the uk gov conceeded since 2016 to the scottish electorate?

  11. My thoughts exactly. For one thing, TV is going to be shit, as it’ll just be non-stop back to back torchlit rallies, show trials and footage of people wearing vests doing star jumps in a field.

    Enjoy :upyeah:

  16. yes we do, but that was from smith, not brexit. i guess the slight matter of the majority paying less tax than rUK is irrelevent too.

  17. My bad. Should have said Bosnia or Albania. I assumed they were not members since you keep telling us all members have to have the Euro

  20. Perhaps. But when you’ve had far right leaflets pushed though your letterbox twice in the past 18 months, it does all start to feel a bit “dramatic”.
