British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. so Cherry was successful.
    works for me.

  2. I thought you'd like that

  3. whats not like?

  4. How has the Supreme Court stopped a WTO Brexit?

  5. Ooooft. Unanimous decision

  6. I wonder if he will prorogue parliament again in order to have the tory conference?

  7. They haven't but they are attempting to aid it, if this is not about stopping brexit, can you explain why the only people who took cases to the court, were those who have sought to revoke/stop brexit from day 1?

  8. attempting to aid it?
sounds like you dont trust the impartiality of the uk leagal system

  9. As an event on it's own I would fin, but there has been a constant stream of officialdom refusing to accept a peoples democratic vote that both houses asked us to have and all of its occupants signed up to respect.

    That can't keep getting ignored.

  10. I've said to you all along fin, despite salmonds we can do it in 18 months nonsense, the snp have to be careful what it says in regards to brexit because much of it will bite the snpee government in the arse should indi happen

It's as quite a few of us have said, for those with an open and long term mind, the brexit result has way more long term consequences for the U.K.'s democracy than just brexit

  11. i dont think so. it dosent have the same issues as brexit.
a majority for YES at Parliment
    a competent Gov.
    no GFA
no other countries pulling in opposit directions
a massive and rock solid support built up over the years who, will accept times might be tougher (but they wont) and are happy to take a pay cut as they know being yer own boss has a value too.
    its a completely different scenario.

  12. Why is Salmond sounding off about British Indy?

  13. I think he's talking about russian indy at the momment, that'll teech em

  14. But no consistent yes by Scotlands population

    erm :D

Agree but the gfa is not the reason for a hard border the republic will have, the single market border is required between a eu and non eu countries, so yes the eu will demand one between scotland and the U.K., you know this

given one of the groups fighting to stop brexit is the scottish government, I'd suggest you are being economic with the truth

not as much as you'd like to suggest :D

  15. Not really.........a chimp is still a chimp whether it was born in the jungle or London Zoo.

    Sorry.....couldn't resist.

And unfortunately, I was born in Essex, but I live in Suffolk...................

............Suffolk.....where they don't bury people but just leave them standing upright at bus stops.

  17. For some reason I don’t always get alerts, so missed this

I was referring to Emily Mathis, the BBC newswoman who was rebuked by a press complaints body over unfair questioning.

I can’t recall the point I was tying to make though as the joke has now left the building. At the moment, in this febrile atmosphere where we seem to have a new constitutional crisis every day, topical political comedy only has a shelf life of around 25 minutes
