British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Lol. Would that be more or less undemocratic than the nation being driven over a cliff edge by 3 men who nobody has voted for? Johnson wasn’t elected to the office he holds, Farage has stood for Parliament umpteen times but has never been successful and the other (Cummings) is clearly a raging Iago-like sociopath who isn’t even a politician but was appointed to office.

It’s that convenient “picking and choosing” thing again, isn’t it?

  4. I cant imagine you will have the OO wandering about banging on the big base drum down your way. well, not unless you invite them.

  5. Not missing the point at all. The idea we shove democracy in the bin because some boogie men might not like it is nonsense. This is a trade agreement in regards to the border, the U.K government will never put up a hard border because they understand the nuances and delicacies of the good friday agreement.

The eu claim to respect the gfa but they will force the republics government to do as they are told and put up a hard border. The Irish government know this and the real weakness will be the republics politics because so far they have delayed their national elections to get past the leaving date.

Questions will be asked of varadkar and toveney, why did the sell out the gfa for the single market and they will have no answers because varadkar got cockey, over played his hand and it backfired? The Irish people will have their answer in their own elections when they judge their own politicians, that includes sinn fien too if anything starts

You ever wondered why when mentioning the deal, the eu have rarely mentioned people moving across the Irish border?

Once we have left, the deal will follow quite quickly once the eu realise their last trump card has been failed. I also have a greater faith in the Irish people on both sides that the boogie men do not represent their people or their country

The republic wants to stay in the eu, no problem, that's their choice and fair play, our choice is to leave it and that should be respected too

  6. our choice was to stay in the EU 2014 and again just a few short months after. respect that.

  7. I'm not worried Finster. It'll all come out in the wash.

I have to admit to being a little bit hooked on watching it all. I can't wait for it to end though, so we can all be nice to each other again *

  11. I have always felt it would be a good idea to run the OO marches alongside the Notting Hill Carnival. Just to see how many minutes would pass before it turned into a full scale battle.

  13. I find it interesting that we have this image of the U.K. as being a great democracy.

    unelected head of state

    unelected upper chamber

    Unelected chief of staff

and when we go abroad to enforce democracy there we install proportional representation but only after we have sent an unelected Prince in a helicopter gunship.

I always thought we should have a written constitution but having seen it in action and how quickly the Supreme Court can sort things out, I see the benefit of the current arrangement. By comparison the US Supreme Court seems to be continually bogged down in interpreting its written constitution

  14. I take it you're as short on material as you are on wit?.
    .
if I was to start posting clips, news paper columns, adverts, mems, gifs, twitter posts blogs of all the EU advise we got leading up to 2014, we would need another two forums. one for all the claims re the EU by Westminster. and the other for all the rebuttals members of the EU had to make after 2014. why would I trust Westminster Grr, now?

  15. It's ok fluffy, we are giving up democracy because of terrorism - the future is bright :sun::bomb::sun:

  18. I can’t believe you think that militant republicans will blame everyone else apart from Britain, if a hard border goes up.
