British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. You might be right. A referendum will prove it one way or the other.

  2. Indeed, Leave gain 1% and remain win with an even less majority - it's called remainer democracy

  3. Why? No one ever seems to mind that the Liberals never win anything, or the Greens / UKIP won 20% of the 2017 vote but only got one MP.

  4. Or not.

  5. Wouldn't it be great is the SNP, Lib Dems and labour forced a no confidence vote through right now. ........ then the EU said deal or no Deal by the 31st Oct... no extension. .... sweet dreams.....

    And watch this space.

  6. perhaps the remain option should be split in 2 also just for fairness.. remain or remain with Corbyn running the show

  7. A rigged referendum, as Chizel rightly said, how many leavers (winners) would never vote again due to all the crap of the last 3.5 years.
Far better to just respect the vote - it is the only way forward for peace, prosperity and tranquillity - and if (slim chance I know) it goes tits up, I'll move to the Czech Republic, probably a house next to the Brno Circuit an hour from family :):upyeah:

  8. Cabinet minister Michael Gove insists UK will leave EU by 31 October, despite government letter asking for extension

  9. Been posted before but still very very true

  10. If the voters won't vote, what does that say about them?

I'm not sure your second choice of home is that relevant, though not a bad choice.

  11. I see what you are saying, but a referendum is a specific question not a ‘general’ one

  12. It really is getting rather tiresome isn't it, whichever way you voted originally I feel the very small amount of credibility left in the current crop of politicians (on all sides) has been eroded entirely, unless you're SNP in which case you'll still be happy I guess, happy probably being the wrong turn of phrase, but you know what I mean.
    .
yip, its the wrong turn of phrase.
Brexit. what is it, 3.5 years? of shit. now imagine a lifetime of the same. Imagine a lifetime of news and politicians of all uk colors making statements comparable to AirCons latest efforts. (check out the source and how out of date it was) and presented on loop as fact.
imagine living with a partner you have been told you can never leave, a partner that spends his whole miserable life telling you cant do this, you will accept that. (with no veto) and the best you can ever be is a dependent, (in 2005 the poorest country in the west) surviving on your partners good will where half of everything you make is handed over and counted as his wage, and heaven forbid you ever get a mind of your own.
I can see the DQ's coming in from some now. and from brexiteers of all people.
No, its not fun. and once you see it, you cant unsee it. i'v been seeing it for about 7years. where you cant even avoid it on a bike forum.
if half of you are struggling with living in a country where you always get the gov you country votes for, where only 10% of policy (mostly trade) is, to use the brexiteers language, interreference and suppression from the EU. with at least the semblance of balance from your media. then you aint seen nothing. and if you consider Scotland as being just another region of England as is so often stated by your leaders, you never will.
the very fact we are being taken out of the EU by your votes, and the big powers that have gone quite some way in turning things around up here since 2007 being re reserved should chime with brexiteers. but it doesn't.
with the majority of brexiteers on here and out there being so poorly informed about the structures of power and finances within the UK why should I even entertain their thoughts on the EU.
    aye, tiresome indeed.

  13. Next Brexit referendum. ..... whatever the result. ....
    Another one a month later.
    Not different, the same..?

Just want the best of three...

  14. So you say...

  15. TFW you see something and no one else has seen it yet : o D

  16. Remain a member of the EU.

    Leave the EU.

    That’s pretty specific.

  17. A former British soldier and Heseltine on the radio this morning talking about how the Irish Sea customs border will be a recruiting SGT for the UVF and a resumption of violence as they blame Catholics for the deal.

The soldier gave a very interesting example of how both sides do anything to be the polar opposite of the other, just to annoy the other. His example was catholics going on pro choice rallys for abortion just to piss off the DUP who don’t believe in dinosaurs but do believe in unicorns

A couple of years ago I remember a few people here getting really pissed off at me for suggesting this was a massive issue and that it couldn’t be solved. Seems I was right.

  19. It is relevant as it is my get out of jail free card :) and what it says is they aren't bothered either way and now also that they aren't bothered anymore - which means in reality only about 30% voted remain so the loosing margin was mahoosive

  20. Whats not specific about Leaving with the deal that everyone can read and understand?
