Something of their own doing and capitalising on it, the utter bastards

Interesting indeed if only for the fact that they're once again reporting statistics in a negative fashion. This section for instance as just one example of many within that piece These figures are a reminder many voters have not necessarily been following the drama of the past week closely. However, in each poll, rather more say they support Mr Johnson's deal than indicate they are opposed to it. But given the high proportion of don't knows, the proportion in favour does not come even close to 50%. Whilst what they're saying is true, shouldn't it also follow that up with "and nor does the proportion opposed come as close to 50%" Quite similarly throughout there are higher proportions of support than their are opposed, yet the negativity is aimed towards the support percentage not being higher. Quite interesting...
I really didn't find it objectionable at all. Like you I interpreted the numbers for myself. I thought the comments such as you highlighted were a general response to the Downing St relentless message that the people are being denied, echoed by the Daily Fail & The Excess. If the stas are true (or even partially so) the people are neither in support or against in any great percentage. Its quite interesting how we see the same things and feel differently!
The obvious observation is about democracy. Cons think they should have vote after vote. But the people should not have another referendum. Telling, what ever your view on leave stay
I try to see the angle they're taking more so than what I wish to see, I try to be objective as at the moment I'm so cynical with all the shit the media and politicians are spouting. None of what the report says is technically inaccurate, it's just that the reporting is in a style down playing 'support' for the deal, more so than down playing the 'opposition' to the deal. They're immediately using the larger 'don't know' proportions to somehow suggest that automatically goes against 'support' results, more so than the likelihood those 'don't knows' could actually materialise to further prop up the support results. I'm not surprised people don't know, it's been dragging out for well over 3 years and like me I'm sure most people are just sick of listening to politicians, I'm just a sucker for self harm and watch too much news
