British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Bear in mibd XR is a minority, fringe, lunatic cult acting out on the basis of dodgy, disputed "science" ... whereas a legitimate protest again an illegitimate government could and should have very widespread public support.

  2. you are right then, it’s never likely to happen.

For instance if they cancelled brexit, in theory there should be 17 million people protesting, but that’s unlikely and if they did would they have public support, or would they get get dragged off the train by people trying to carry on with their lives.

  3. If 17 million people glue themselves to something I'm buying shares in Gorilla glue :upyeah:

  4. Damo is hiding more than he is showing here (the tinker) but I would think that shares in Gorilla glue going up is one of the more minor outcomes. It's likely that commuters wouldn't outnumber pro-democracy protesters by quite as much as those XR protesters were. In fact, the pro-democracy protesters would probably glue the commuters to the trains.

In the very unlikely event, etc.

  5. That's a
OK OK, what I'm really saying is shall we all glue ourselves to stuff? :upyeah:

  6. Well, if we have the glue ... why wouldn't we?

  7. Could we glue ourselves to pubs? Just slightly on the inside out of the rain?

  11. Based on the number of remain voters and the number of ‘people’s vote’ marchers there won’t be enough to stop all the trains.

  12. In my ongoing quest for self harm, and general laziness of changing the channel, I've just watched Kay Burley interview Labours Rebecca Long Bailey on Sky News.

What a ridiculous party they are, by far the most non committal I've ever seen or heard I reckon, almost insultingly so to their support base.

She was asked repeatedly (as annoying as Burley can do) whether Labour want a general election. RLB just repeated the word 'pragmatism' almost as though it was a safe word and nobody would notice, she blamed Bozza for not wanting one even though it was put to her that he did and he's tried.

Round and round it went, pragmatism...pragmatism.....side step....pragmatism.....

Honestly, where's the backbone of these lot? If I was the eu I'd draw a line in the sand and simply say you've got 2 weeks unless you specify time for the election to take place, it's just getting ridiculous this and the whole process is being dragged out by a collective of minority parties that won't go to the public in a GE and yet none will make a decision to move on.

I really dislike the politicians we've got

  15. just think, if the torys hadn't been so ideologically driven into building a one nation Brittan and chose not to dig their heels in when presented with the compromise offer by the Scot Gov in 2016 you would of had yer full brexit by now.
    nae luck.

  16. Not really, I find them all annoying as fuck but at least Bozza as much of a dick he is at least attempts to move forward.

Labour in its current guise are a shit show frankly, a poor copy of the party they used to be. With the Tories you know what you're being offered, with the Lib Dems you do, with the SNP, but with Labour they're just holding on to the opposition position but not doing what needs to be done or coherently saying what needs to be said.

It's cowardly, nothing less really, and I'm sure there's loads of good labour politicians going home each night frustrated as fuck by the ridiculous front bench ineptitude. The country is crying out for an opposition party offering something they truly want, not what memento wants, not what some metro centric socialists want, just a party with balls.

  18. It's alright people hating on the Tories so much for whatever reason they see fit, but is that useful? No

If they're so shit, and that they are, surely to christ it's the oppositions job to chime with the electorate and get them out? Looks to me that they're doing neither, and unless someone can't point to the evidence to suggest that labour are saying or doing what the majority of electorate want, or pushing for a general election, then they're not fit for purpose are they?

  19. And now I've over poached my eggs, the bastards...grrrr brexit

  20. I listen with my ears and i think you are judging your politicians with the arm waving and theatrics which you will not get with JC et al, not required mate.
