British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. i would be as well too. but, i do know there are people from up here on here that get fed the same drivil 24/7 in the msm as is repeated on here.l
what i have also noticed is that there is a wee backlash agaist the attitude and nature of replys by certain members without mention of the instigators.
its a bit to arse over elbow for me to let go.

  9. Nissan may be getting rid of some EUropean production plants. Sunderland probably first.
I do wonder if the people of Sunderland really thought things through. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Global downturn or not, uncertainty about future trading and possible no deal must make it a no brainer for Nissan for where to close first.

  11. the fraser of allander institue (normally the goto organisation for the bbc) says brexit has cost our ecconimy 3bill already.

  12. Cool, I'll take that with a pinch of salt then. :D

  13. And? Hardly relevant to brexit unless you're suggesting Spain is leaving the eu too?

If anything it supports that many of the claims despite manufacturers claiming it's brexit, is the multi country slow down of the world wide automotive industry

It's also worth mentioning the secondary link within your link has this in it

Like other automakers, Nissan is under pressure from European regulators to roll out zero-emission vehicles that comply with new rules meant to cut pollutants. Nissan is considering importing combustion cars from Japan as trade barriers with the European Union fall away, and focusing its manufacturing activity in the region on electric models such as the Leaf, according to the people.

Doing so would reduce the need for vast factories in Europe because the process for making electric cars is simpler, with fewer parts and requirements for space and machinery. Nissan plans to cut the number of money-losing models, including those from the small-car Datsun brand and other compact cars, one of the people said, as it turns away from Ghosn’s growth strategies. Reuters reported Wednesday the Datsun nameplate will be eliminated.

It seems eurpean standards enforced by the eu are having the biggest impact

  15. For someone that does so much internet research, you really are very narrow minded to ignore the obvious connection. Continue with your head in the sand and your trolling.

  16. So all speculation and no concrete facts then.

I've been listening to this kind of stuff for 30 years from people who couldn't even find the factory.

Oh, by the way. It says because of a declining EU market due to regulation and move to electrification because of tightening emissions rules. It's a very difficult market for all auto manufacturers. Cheers EU. :upyeah:

  17. Never even heard of them, so I doubt it.

Talk about posting obscure articles if it suits your agenda too :astonished: You're the master!

  18. and if you read the article fully it highlights that the dragged out 3 year uncertianty has done more damage that if we had taken brexit and gotten on with it.

  19. I believe this maybe a rehash of the story that said, japan said in 2016 even if we vote for brexit they will all pull out, then they said if we had brexit they would pull out as have many multinationals where they have tried to control the peoples democratic votes. The just as jlr did, they then announced an expansion in the U.K..
