Well let's check that faux outrage, which parties have been calling for a general election almost weekly since the 13th of july 2016 when May was elected and repeated that almost daily since Boris was elected on the 24th of july 2019? I'll give you a hint, the same parties kept saying "neither were prime ministers of the U.K. because none of them were voted by the British people, we demand a general election NOW" Why then after 3 years of asking for a general election and now being offered one, have they gone quiet as though someone has offered them a gary glitter concert ticket?
