British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  2. Yep, I have re-located, away from cloud cuckoo land. I'll still visit ya though :D

  3. I'd hope we grow most of it, and what we do export some over to the EU, and import in some of theirs, you know, like trade.

As for a trade deal with the USA, well I'm sure that would be hugely beneficial for the UK

  4. I thought something like 90% of fruit and veg was imported and the bulk of that from Europe. That said, while I do think prices for such would go up I can't imagine it would have too much impact.. I'm just waffling.. Bored...

  5. Honestly I wouldn't know how much we import, but if importation prices rise, then I can only assume that the buyers would source locally within the UK as the benefit of importation would cease.

Obviously we can't grow everything and so we'll always need to import something, but that's not to say it has to come via one of the EU ports or hubs.

If we can actually start a free trade deal with the USA that would be a very positive move.

  6. cheaper Harleys?

  7. Here is a image of planet Earth, where we live.
    Beautiful isn't it? And big.
It is the only known planet in the universe to support life. It has one moon and two co-orbital satellites.
Its mass is 5.97 x 10^24 kg. It orbits the sun at 67,000 mph. It is 4.5 billion years old.
70% of it is covered in water. Less is known about the abyssal deeps than the surface of the moon.
Did you know you can fly over the Taiga forest of the northern hemisphere at 600 miles mph and read a novel, watch a film, eat a meal, get some sleep, wake up and look out of the window and you're still over that forest and you haven't flown over a human settlement? And that's just one narrow strip across the Earth's northern periphery.
The total area of the Earth's dry land is 57,505,693.767 sq miles.
Europe occupies just 6.8% of that area.
The UK would fit into Europe 41 times.
Scotland is just 38% of the UK.
There are 7.4 billion people on planet Earth, 65 million people in the UK and 5.3 million in Scotland.

The Earth: huge, unique, fascinating, irreplaceable. So much to see, so many questions to ask. But it is an ephemeral world. Temporary. In 4.5 billion years the Sun will burn out and go cold, this Earth will be vapourised and the only known life in the universe will wink and go out.

Scotland: nice but really really small. Very very small indeed. Need a magnifying glass to find it.
Do you see what I'm saying?

  11. Everyone
It encircles the planet at between 50 and 70 degrees north, broken only by the north Atlantic and Greenland (which isn't. Its white, under 5 miles of ice).

At the speed you read we may need a new plane.

  16. Do you mean the EXTRA £800 million on top of the usual money that is allocated through the Barnet formula despite oil revenues falling through the floor? Add to that the new ship building and armed forces projects allocated to Scottish industry? Just checking :grinning:
