Not surprsingly, I have a theory on this. Most uni's close for christmas around that date. In the last ge in 2017, there were a lot of complaints about students using their postal votes for home and their walk in vote in their uni town. IF true then they would be home and more likely to vote just once. Anyway, the electoral commission were involved and this was noted The Commission's report noted "notable increases" in the number of registered electors, of more than 10%, in student-heavy seats. It singled out Canterbury, Cambridge, Brighton Pavilion, Bristol West and Leeds Central as examples. Labour won Canterbury for the first time in its history by just 187 votes. More than two thirds (69%) of 2.9million applications after Theresa May called the snap poll were by people under 35. And tactical voting tools allowed students to check where there vote would count the most out of the two seats where they were registered. Voting for one of the current politicians twice ? Blimey, I’m struggling to think of one I think is worth one vote.

You know what i don't get, is why the opposition and the media keep trying to peddle the 'boris johnson has lied again because we won't have left on the 31st October' line. If they want to make an impact they should just stick with the actual lies, the real ones which he's been solely responsible for, but by doing what they're doing (mostly in spite) i don't see it having the impact they want, quite the opposite in fact, as its blindingly obvious why he couldn't leave on the date set and for once that isn't really down to him, or at least thats what the general public will see and understand. Thus by continuing to push on that 'we won't leave on the 31st so he's a lier' i think will make people shut their ears to the real lies.....if that makes sense It just seems mismanaged in terms of message (no surprise from Labour there), then again what do i know, these guys are professionals
