TV content has to be relevant to the viewing public or its not watched even if it is "important". I watched the interview with Sturgeon today. It was relevant as what she will do if her party is relected in big numbers will make a difference. Plaid/ Libs / BXP / Greens will not get more than 5 MPs each at the outside. Whatever they say is not relevant to me. Next time around if they have thirty MPs, I will be interested in what they have to say as it could actually mean something.
I am a little surprised the media (especially SKY, as they are calling it the Brexit election) are not giving more time to Lib Dem’s and Brexit party, as at this time they are choices for extreme remainers and leavers perhaps.
Sky are in the viewer figures = advertising revenue game. Swinson & Farage etc are fun on a panel which they can disrupt and cause entertaining gaffes. Otherwise they are droning on about policies which have zero chance and most everyone switches channel. Viewer figures fall, taking advertising revenue with it.
You can see who voted what. click on results and then the number next to each option and it shows who voted what.
In the UK there are only two parties currently imo that have any chance of forming a government. In Scotland & NI its a different proposition due to the devolved government & political climate. In Wales & England the voting in Scotland & NI is interesting because there is potential for it to affect the final result. I think it comes down to voting for the Tories or Labour if either one will benifit you & yours. If neither particularly appeal vote against the one which you think will do you & yours most harm. Maybe you doubt Labour (Czech spies!) will achieve anything and you already know Tories haven't achieved anything for 11 years? Choose who will support the NHS best give him your vote. Then at least you will get something if you are sick!
It sounds easy when you put it like that. I don’t know, but think Labour have little chance as they don’t have the support they used to have. Particularly in the North of England and Scotland ( wasn’t Scotland predominantly Labour for a long while ?). The Tories I think are most likely to get a Majority .
You are supposed to think that. All the newspapers say it everyday. Odd that the same newspapers are claiming Farage needs to stand down as otherwise Labour will win. The very same newspapers that claimed May would win a landslide. Worth thinking about?
Al, the liberals had a good grip of the rural areas. labour where running the show from councillor to MP right across Scotland since the 60s. the conservatives haven't won a mandate up here since the 1950s. in all that time we got poorer as time went by. even when blair and the gordasurus where in charge. by 2005 we had become the poorest country in Europe with the prestigious award of being the most violent. (the legacy you are seeing now with drug death numbers). the final straw for them came in the name of, better together. some up to date polling. https://wingsoverscotland.com/an-all-time-low/
I don’t read newspapers. Tend to listen to Radio 4 / 5 sometimes going to from work. Do you think Labour have a strong chance of winning, and if so what makes you think that ?
Is there an option in this GE for voting in an exclusively UK government or are we left with mostly EU candidates? Asking for a friend.
I am the same as you Soph, my youngest boy informs me through his media sources there is a massive groundswell again for Labour with the 18-24 year olds again. If Labour get in this time or any when in the near future, i think you can say it will see the end of the conservative party forever !
The lesson here then is that it wasn't the conservatives fault, Labour and the Lib Dems aren't any good either...Go Boris!
