British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. I'm not at all sure that is not going to be far too often. Also the FPTP system makes that a flawed arguement to me.

  4. If you are going to make even 1 mp more for the snp as "the Scottish people have spoken and they want another indi vote" it would seem I would not be the only one using a crystal ball :D

  5. Looking at the total eligible voters there are 4 million Scots. Less than 25% vote for the SNP in Scottish or UK Gen Elections

Of those that do vote 46% voted for the SNP in the Scottish Gov election. Possibly because LAB & Cons in Scotland are crap!

That doesn't portray a strong desire for change to me. Of course it doesn't confirm a desire to be a part of the UK either.

  6. The cut off for nominations was 4pm today so soon you should be able to see who all the candidates are for your areas mp

  7. it could be argued that complacency and disengaging with elections is a strong argument for change. lets not forget there are two indi parties in holyrood, and two smaller indi partys that run in holyrood elections. the SSP and Rise.

  11. Looks like my choices are

    Conservative
    Labour
    Lib Dem
    and one independent

    At the moment.

  12. So how do the ones who want true independence vote then? It’s looking very complicated already  And do you wait for the UK Brexit to be finalised to see if you need a wall or not? :bucktooth:
    Have you thought this through?

  13. Could be true. If I were the King (luckliy for everyone I'm not!) I would grant Indi ref when it could be shown that there was a clear desire for change from at least 40% of the electorate or if there was wide scale rioting etc injury to the people over a prolonged period.

  14. How would you vote in a 3 way Scottish Indi? You seem quite sensible Alan

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  15. what have you guys been told re numbers that want another reff? are you aware what happens to partys that seek a super majority?

  16. The referendum can only feature options that are available.

Once Scotland has decided to Leave UK they will decide themselves what to do in the future. If Scotland votes to Remain in the UK they will do so until the next Indi ref - which should have a set of requirements to be satisfied before happening again for a third time.
