there is no stipulation on using your own currency. it just so happens that every one that has joined had their own. and quite a few still do.

a block, like the UK Single market, would sugest there is group of soverign nations agreeing on various arrangments. thats not the case in the uk. so it isnt a block.

 

A "clear mandate" is not, when you are on the losing half consistently for three years and rarely even meeting halfway point
