British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. No, you're misreading the facts.

They'll move 'some' of the operations within the EU boarders, SOME.

    Which makes perfect sense.

On the flipside of that, has it even struck you at all that European banks trade in the UK?

As such if banks currently running certain operations from here are required to move within EU boarders, the European banks wishing to continue trading in the UK may also have to move some operations here.

  2. I would think those banks are already based in London as it was the best base for European financial trading.

  3. Spin...

  4. I know you Scotchland people like to play the victim card but this is more about technology than the Scottish. Many of the job centres now are nothing more than an office where people work and not where people visit.

Most benefit details, issues are dealt with at call centres rather than local centres and most machines that we used to use to look for jobs, have been removed as more and more people have access to the internet and as Library's increase their computer suites for those who cannot afford the internet.

The reductions of offices will almost certainly be based on the lack of foot traffic as more and more people deal with the dwp through phones and the internet, there is also the part most anti tories hate and some refuse to admit, more people are in work now and it continues to rise

  5. i only got to the first line, then gave up. heard it all before. highlight an issue. your playing the victim card, change the record dude. because the unemployed are just overflowing with tech, money for bus fares and phone calls.
when you have an evil tory government conducting brexit i think its only fair to continue to highlight when and wherever there's the opportunity arises about the general way the torys conduct there business. especially considering the concern over brexit and jobs. and considering it took until 8.45 to hear a 1min segment on the news about it.

  6. Fact.

Financial services is one the UKs biggest exports, a third of which is to the EU. Its what has stopped our balance of payments getting completely out of hand in recent years.
