Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. And many ISO standards were originally BS standards.

  2. Back in the late 80's and early 90's I was frequently in Holland, France, Germany and Brussels doing exactly that.

  3. Not possible.

The EU as it is was not formed until 1993. You couldn't have travelled or worked in those locations before there was an EU.

    Glad I could help.

  5. You guys need to get a grip.

it’s really simple. You maintain there is nothing wrong with calling people Scottish. I am informing you that there is and you may end up in a bit of a bad place if you say to the wrong person. If I wished any harm to you I would keep my mouth shut and let you take the consequences.

the above is predicated upon me accepting you at face value when you say you do not believe there is any harm in it.

If that’s not the case and you do know it’s problematic then all you are doing here is trolling and at least you are smart enough not to say i front of the wrong people.

    the word doesn’t bother me

the image you portray of English people and this forum, I find disappointing as it’s not representative of people I meet day in day out. But if this is really important to you then you carry on

  6. i have noticed the “thinnest of skins” feature of a few people too.

When you let certain people have back what they dish out they go off crying.

  7. Sorry peanut. ... I'll dig out the relevant documents and dates.
At what point did I say EU. Either you've got some sand from that camels arse stuck in yer eye or you lke to compare Apples and oranges in a classic misdirection.
    Yet again, you are wrong.
At least your inaccurate posts are amusing to some.
I was, with others, on the CENELEC and ETSI committees. Part of the task was to change BS4737:1986 into BSEN50131. CENELEC started work on common standards shortly after I was born,
We had been told to make a uniform standard within the radio and security industry and worked on these for a for a long time. May be my dates are slightly out, but you'll find my name in the consultation lists. We published in 1997 and I'm sure we'd been working on it for 8 to 10 years before that.
Your name is probably on a local authority list. Is the inside of that window clean yet?

  10. Oh FFS !! It looks like someone has to step up and be 'The Dad' ? ... I mean, come on guys...I'm 100% English and even I'm getting uncomfortable with the continued use of 'Scottish' when it clearly offends some Scots. Was funny to start with (in a jokey matey ribbing way), but it's now become a silly playground scrap. I could say those that are offended should grow a thicker skin and/but those that carry on poking the stick are equally shallow. Give it a rest kids.
    It's time to ...

  16. nobody on here gave a shit about the Scottish word.
any offence taken comes from the use of it by a select few after several years of the worst kind of steriotyping in the most inapproprate of threads and situations.
    .
if you dont understand that and remain silent on any thread then yer fucked.
    .

  17. I lived there for 4 years. If you're English, I think you'll find you'll be called a lot of things......but 'Scottish' won't be one of them :D

  18. was it a pleasurable expeirance? a negative one?
the frustrating thing for people like me who know that most genuin anti english setiment comes from those that appose scottish civic nationalisim and the leagths we go to to call it out for what it is.

  19. But I will insist upon it when in the drinking establishments :bucktooth:
But anyhoo, very interesting - they are allowed to call names but we aren't - that makes me mcfuckin' mad  I feel for the sheep shaggiests like Portly Boy and Chiz as that isn't as cool as Scottish

  20. Pretty sure some of the circus pub monkeys will want to slip something up your sit-upon if you do that, Elise.

So I was told by the monkeys' owner.
