British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. No, I don't think I am at all.

In fact I think I'm far more 'on point' and talk less 'flim flam' than most

You won't hear me spouting about conspiracy theorist shite, and I don't talk in riddles trying to hide behind bizarre indirect comments when things aren't going my way

Yes clearly other things need to be addressed in the world, root causes and so forth, you'd be a fucking moron if you didn't agree with that.

Unfortunately many of which are very complicated long term goals which may or may not ever come to pass. We can only hope that they do, but I'm more of a realist and prefer to face what's in front of me now.

As opposed to purely focusing on long term goals and only the most idealistic of outcomes, surely it would be more sensible to actually take some securing and yet humane action in the present.

I've never once suggested no immigration, and no entry for refugees, but in Germanys case having 800,000+ people at the border profess to all be refugees, when in fact many weren't, required thought and sensible but firm action. Not a welcome one and all policy.

For instance, Do you think I have an issue helping woman or children? You know, those nice images we're all fed through the media as though it's all we face?

No, far from it, in fact personally I'd encourage them more than anything as it's they who are most oppressed in their native countries, not hoards of 20-30 year old single males.

Equally that's not to say I wouldn't allow any males in, of course I would.

But there needs to be process, planning and clear strategy.

  5. That's what I like about most of your posts easy, they can probably be best summed up by William Faulkner

"He has never been known to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary."

  9. On the other hand it is evident that you haven't and do not.
I would commend to you also Fowler's Modern English Usage. He has much to say about punctuation and syntax that could be of benefit. :Bookworm:

  10. Doubt it to be honest , but tas anyway

  11. dude, i have been. (mostly) i think if some stuck to maintaining their business instead of writing and quoting farage bollox. and it is bollox, (just because you dont have a viable alternative doesnt mean you cant abstain) maybe, just maybe they wouldn't need to go looking for a change of career.
i have read a lot of stuff over the last 3-4 years from both sides and there is almost always the same theme from the "No" and "Out" sides usually along the lines of, no your not, no we cant. peppered with the odd bit of policy that doesnt relate to the real world.
what has farage done for the UK?. you could probably draw a wee comparison with this place, a cosy, chatty, humerus and helpful busy place with some right good characters, enter minesatriplepreacherofbollox. there was the odd clash of personalities before, but he took it to a different level, just chipping away, trolling around, opening wounds, starting fights. like farage, he is gone, but his disciples remain.
this place is only a fraction of what it was 2years ago.

selling hate has been easy over the last decade, anyone getting his amount of exposure could of done it, and probably better to. he is not the Messiah, (neither was cameron or brown) he has no credible or doable policy, he smashed it and told you to fix it.
but ultimately it is the fault of the existing Government and Parliament system that has allowed/encouraged? it. along with a total lack of empathy they offered no viable alternative,
from an outsider looking in, your country is a joke, but it aint funny. for as long as there is a farage with influence or a tory with power, there will always be a Sturgion, Mhari Black, Salmond, Robertson,Corbin,Alyn Smith, etc etc etc. offering a an alternative.(personally i wouldn't touch corbin) backed up with actual experience in the job without spreading the hate.
    still waiting noob.

  12. Nope, i think you will find that you are incorrect. The first PFI projects in the UK were in 1995.

  13. And yet all you seemed to have taken in is the snp are gods and everyone else knows nothing

He got us the vote and judging by the turn out, it was a vote many wanted to take part in one way or another No one has said he is the messiah from what I can see as once the vote was infront of us, the rest was upto us

This same parliamentry system has had scottish mp's and scottish mep's including the snp sitting and making decisions although if you listen yo your arguments, they never have taken part in any bad decisions, just the good ones

And this is where you lose the reality vote, it is the same country, the U.K. and not just a franchise as you chose to believe, your passport says united kingdom, you are a united kingdom citizen. Pretending it doesn't exist seems on par for most snp supporters. There is this difficulty to understand the reality of most things, even Europe smiles at you with a we like you, but you are not a proper country, you need to understand you are a united kingdom citizen.

Promising something you cannot deliver because you have no influence or power to do so, has always been the trade of opposition parties and the snp is no different

As am I fin, as am I

  16. It was an experiment they stepped back from. It was Brown who expanded PFI because it didn't appear on government accounts as capital expenditure. It was a smoke and mirrors exercise conducted at vast expense to the public. My local PFI hospital cost £80 million to build under Labour, but will cost £500 million over it's lifespan.

  18. deffo, sure i read recently the repayment accounts for more than half the council tax take.
40 tears of oil, banking and service industry to die for, some of the highest taxes collected in relation to drink, tobacco and fuel duty, national debt doubled to very near unmanageable levels. WTF is going on?
