British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  6. Well, what a funny thing that SNP thingy magic is - waffle waffle waffle.
So, finm and easyTTpeasy - if you could leave the uk (which the majority of your country didn't wish to do - but lets park that for a mo) and you could join the EU, and you had to join the Euro would you? And how much do you think you would contribute to the EU coffers (understanding that you think there is a very strong economy without the UK) you would be a positive contributor yes?
There is 2 parts to that question - do you think you could answer them without ducking to actual questions?
    Thank you in anticipation :upyeah:

  10. I wouldn't touch her with dukes

Despite her moral high ground public appearance, she has been married 3 times and the third and current husband was married to someone else which she knew when starting the affair.

  11. Fairly high morals ,,,, for an englander

  13. firstly you dont have to join the euro from the start off. so we will park that one to.
is it a % of gdp? per chance. bit hard to say exe, seeing as westminster doesnt have a definitive answer to that, funny that. our gdp would also change considerably as our financial leavers are pretty much in the control of westminster.
as you know:Angelic: the GERS figures are an estimate of an estimate but within a uUK construct. ie, irrelevant when it comes to estimating the GDP of an independent country. i guess the strength of yer hand comes into it come any negotiation also. now for a country with less than 10%. we have considerably higher percentages of the resources on our side of the boarder.
lastly, who says we a joining the EU. a compromise position has been put on the table. the brexiters up here need to be taken into account also.
    democracy dear exe democracy.

  14. There is no simple answere to your complex question , suffice to say , there is one relevant point to your post , to quote " didn't wish to do " , the relevant part being didn't , that was then , this is now , let's just assume here for a moment , if someone gives you a set of facts and asks you to make a judgment on them , you then do so , but then comes back and starts all the blah blah oh well we can't do this can't do that etc , what do you do ? Just sit back and say oh well , I was mugged / fooled / conned , but hey ho , that's life ???? I think not

  15. Did you have to look that up in a dictionary?

  17. Englander ?,,, no we all know what they are , but obv you are confused with having the words moral and englander in the same sentence

  18. here exe, let me help you out here
The UK government is solely responsible for:

    constitutional matters
    UK defence and national security
    UK foreign policy
    immigration and nationality
UK economic and monetary policy (other than Scotland’s tax-varying power)
energy: electricity, coal, gas and nuclear power
    employment legislation
social security (the DWP – Department for Work and Pensions)
some aspects of transport, including railways, safety and regulation
regulation of certain professions such as medicine and dentistry
others, such as data protection, broadcasting, gambling and the National Lottery

Scotland’s legislative competence operates within an allocated budget and an economic model NOT of its own creation. Our allocated debt and deficit, the economic model and legislation which Scots are obliged to accept as a member of the UK is, by and large, beyond the the control of both the Scottish Government and the Scottish electorate. We voted for that in 2014 y’know.

£1.6tr in debt, set to become £1.8-9 by 2020 according to Mr Hammond. An eye watering sum, yes? Which government ran up this debt? Which government controls the levers of the economy? The Scottish Government didn’t catastrophically crash an economy (its not allowed to). The Scottish Government hasn’t waged war on anyone in centuries, spending yet further eye watering sums on maintaining a global military footprint (see under foreign adventures and Trident).
