British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. At this present time, positive outlooks are needed. The Vote is over, so now everyone needs to look forward. The media and in particular, the BBC are doing there best to continue to scaremonger. The big plan as everyone is asking for now will take time to negotiate, I personally want them to take time and read the small print. If it takes the 2 years so be it.

No doubt it's a very complicated process. Have some patience.

  6. I'm not sure it is true. All Guinness in the UK is brewed at St. James Gate, Dublin. The London brewery was shut years ago. You just think it's better!

  7. it doesn't travel well.

  8. Maybe it was better when it was brewed in London!

  9. I find the taste of Guiness varies wildly in defferent pubs. Maybe it's such an urban myth that it tastes better in Dublin, that your mind tricks you into thinking so. I think it does anyway.

  10. I think the Irish care more and look after their lines better, they take great pride in their Guinness. A lot of the wife's family won't drink it in the UK, only in Ireland.

  11. "Brexit voters must "build bridges" with Remain supporters who feel "loss and confusion", Boris Johnson says."

no mate, i just feel disgust and utter revulsion tbh

youre one cheeky see you next tuesday for suggesting it though so fair play to you for that

  12. Had Guinness in a lot of countries. Worst was a place in Canada. She didn't know how to pour it which didn't help. I'm convinced it's different, but I think it's down to whether it is stored correctly and how much of it the place sells.

  13. I find the whole thing rather amusing..............

......and I don't give a damn if the UK goes tits up.

  16. To be fair its not like the leavers didn't expect some market fluctuations, and in truth had the Remain camp not tirelessly kept pushing on with tales of economic woe then its highly likely the fluctuations we're seeing wouldn't be half as bad as they are.

Its almost like the remain camp have gone for a scorched earth policy, almost a 'i told you so' approach. That in itself should tell you all you need to know about the establishment.

If they'd not projected the apocalyptic end of the financial world so feverishly then its more likely the markets would have reacted in a more sensible fashion.

Thank god the Bank of England made an early statement as neither Cameron or Osborne did anything to settle the nerves of the markets until today.

Now call me old fashioned but surely their job is still to serve the best needs of the country, as opposed to sulking somewhere and acting childish making it somebody else's problem.

Cameron got in to office by promising a referendum, he delivered that and should be man enough to stand by that.

Its still his job in my view to steady the ship until his own party decide on who steps in his shoes, you don't stick your tail between your legs and go in to hiding..... thats just showing weakness of the highest order and he should be fucking ashamed of himself.

As for the remain camp still sulking all i can say is man up. You are in the minority of this country and don't forget it.

    It is what it is.

Im not going to sit here and say I'm pro Boris because I'm not, I'm not pro Farage or pro any of them.

Im not anti immigration, an OAP or an un educated fool in a shit job...I didn't fall for £350m straight to the NHS... so go figure.

It'd be like me saying all Remainers are Bearded Hipster wannabes that have fuck all backbone and that couldn't grasp the idea of sovereignty if it smacked them in the face.

But I'm not, and i won't, because believe it or not I'm smarter than that.

An exit from the EU of this magnitude has never been done before, but that doesn't make it wrong, and it doesn't mean its not possible to navigate to the benefit of everybody.

Much of the broader Eu legislation will remain in place and over time we (the British people) can vote as to what we change/adapt to the benefit of us all. Thats the point

Workers rights won't be removed, you know why? Because by doing so you'll lose power in office and people want them.

Immigration will still happen, you know why because its necessary

You'll still be able to work in other countries (i presume if you have anything to offer),

You'll still be able to travel to europe without showing your passport anymore than you do already as you drive from country to country (newsflash, they have no borders so you'll get checked upon arrival the same as today)

We'll still trade with Europe (Ask Merkel and she's who you should listen to) and magically we'll trade with America...yes thats correct.

As opposed to moaning and being bitter why doesn't everybody get on board, you aren't going to change anything thats happened in the past, so why don't you try adding to the future?

  17. Civil wars usually sort things out. Maybe the UK is long over due a good scrap. Leavers v Remainers, it's a close 50/50 in numbers. Fight till the last man standing or woman. winner takes all, all that's left.

  18. Really? You've never said. :Meh:
