British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  6. Ahh but the 'pissing in the wind and hope it doesn't blow back on you' type of politics currently in vogue is hardly a basis for a sound future.

  7. Doesn't Junker understand, is he so deluded, so drunk that he cannot see there has never been a "united European front"? That is the contradiction which was always going toguarantee the European Project's ultimate failure from the start.
The Project was to create a single European state. A single identity, a single legislature and a single government. But this grandiose conceit would never get past the electorates of the nations of Europe, most of whom had just fought in the most destructive war in history precisely to preserve their identity and independence. So they were sold the lie that The Project was a purely economic exercise which would make each member nation stronger and more prosperous AS A NATION, while the goal of a single state was pursued covertly behind a smokescreen of bureaucracy.
The constituent members, every single one of them, have never thought collectively. Each and every one joined the project for what they thought they could get out of it INDIVIDUALLY.
When push comes to shove, in fact long before that point - in every single vote - each EU country (quite correctly) puts their own interests first. They always have, they always will and so they should.

  10. Guy Verhofstadt has openly stated that this is an opportunity to further the Project through closer integration, the creation of a European state and a European army.

  15. With the death of socialism in this country that situation need not arise again. It is now highly unlikely that schoolboy Marxists will be allowed anywhere near the levers of power in this country for at least a generation, if ever, and without the EU providing a back-door route into UK governance for fifth columnists there is no reason why we should have to suffer such criminal mismanagement of our economy again.
In Europe, sadly, its a different matter. They're drowning in piss and shite right now. Have you not noticed how much ruin, misery and mass unemployment has been wrought on continental Europe by the Euro and and how many millions of life chances have been wrecked in countries which can never hope to match German levels of productivity but which are trapped indefinitely in a ruinous strait jacket of an effective German exchange rate?
Who's clearing up that piss and shite? Ordinary southern Europeans are wallowing in it through no fault of their own and ordinary German taxpayers are paying endlessly to keep them there.

  16. Buh-buh-but! Tories! Tories tories tories! The Tories!

  17. Don't worry. Ukip will be taking over as the official opposition soon so we'll have some balance and all will be well .
