British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

assuming yer talking about the stuginator.i guess she is continuing on and making a success of the day job. maintaining the fasted growing economy with the lowest unemployment with highest rates in the uk with one hand tied behind yer back must take a fair bit of work i guess. but as you know she is meting Michael today.
wings clipped? nah, just sitting back like the rest of us watching the three stooges do their thang.
Mays looking good tho, no need to clip her wings.

  12. Took her 10 years and with a run up fin but it's good to see now indi has been shelved that she is getting on with her day job. I did tell you this did I not? You will not get indi votes from the Scots unless you are genuinely wealthy and not the faux figures the snp regularly produce. Be careful though fin, they mostly use percentage figures that when looked at, often mean very little in actual numbers

Is Alex taking over the snp leadership again? http://www.thenational.scot/communi...almond_s_Fringe_show___here_s_what_they_said/

  13. So Scotchland is successful and remaining in the UK.

Sorted, I think we can put that sorry topic to bed now and not a year too soon :formerforumupyeahsmiley:

  15. Naahhh it doesn't surprise anyone fin. The snp are like those fake fortune tellers, when they get it right (rarely) it's look how good we are and when they get it wrong, (most of the time) then it's the tories at westminsters fault. Everyone knows what they do now and it's funny they keep thinking no one has noticed.

I know that she AND other devolved/minority parties/opposition leaders are seeing whistling Barnier, promoting it as Nic only is doing it is h r puffenstuff again.

I don't blame her, she is a bit like Borat, entertaining in a car crash kinda way and with the same moustache

Back to the big players :D The thing on the leaving fee, it's clear the eu's own lawyers have said there is no legal obligation within article 50 and the leaving the eu process. We are legally committed to fund and take part in some projects which end in 2020.

The key in regards to the figure is based on 2 parts, one is the pensions bill for those brits who served in the eu trough and two, those projects the eu wanted to do expecting the British cash to always be there, this is what they are classing as moral costs. There is no legal frame work for the moral costs and in most cases there is no cost as there is no project, they want us to pay for the eu's future despite us not being in it. Black and white, there is no legal leaving fee to pay and the eu know this.

as to the law question, it could not be simpler but in true remainer fashion the eu have tried to make it complicated. If you live in the U.K. you come under u.K. rules and U.K. jurisdiction. If you live say in France or anywhere in the eu, then you come under that countries laws and ultimately the eu jurisdiction. The eu wants eu residents who decide to stay in the U.K. to still be covered by the eu jurisdiction and not the U.K. jurisdiction. This would mean a two tier legal system within the same country. The eu does not do this to any other country that is not in the eu so why in the U.K.

We are doing okayin less than 2 years we will be out of the eu with some parts transitioning at a slower pace but most of the important parts will be back in the U.K. for U.K. residents to decide where we go next.

Slight edit just for fin ;) her meeting lasted 60 minutes and she is already almost back in Scotchland. Barnier made it clear that he will listen to anyone but he will only be negotiating with the British Government. Will be interesting to see what spin h r puffenstuff puts on it :D

  17. Fin, truth of the matter in Nics part, check in before flight lasted longer than nics meeting with barnier and at the meeting he made it clear he is only dealing with the British government. I shall now purchase some very fine jaffa cakes, make my tea and await the meeting report spin that will bare no relation to the actual meeting

If nothing else, the snp allow people to look at them and say, the cheeky scamps:laughing:

enough of these lower league dalliances as entertaining as they are, the big boys are at play

  18. What has escaped her attention is that a majority of us don't want the "benefits" of being restricted by a single regulatory trade regime, nor to be a member of an inward-looking protectionist customs union. We don't want to have our cake and eat it, we just want to leave, all of it, completely and permanently and restore our self-governance as soon as possible.
