British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

  1. I wonder why would airbus would say what they have? I mean after all, they are only owned by the Spanish, French and German governments, why on earth would they want to blackmail us into a weak brexit? :joy:

It's also worth mentioning that airbus threatened to leave when we left the e.r.m, and again when we would not join the euro and again if we had a brexit vote. Funny how airbus didn't mention they have also had £19 billion in eu subsidies also, now why would they not mention that? or that by doing so they themselves broke the wto rules?

  2. no worries, we can make do with Maybot's, Daves and Goves spin until then.
but thanks for pointing out the EU's influence in business along with the advantages of remaining. :upyeah:
i wonder if American corporations will spread it about so well?

  3. "THE country’s negotiators are now free from the attempted shackles Remainers were trying to lock them in. With the passing of the EU Withdrawal Bill, It is clear we will be out of the EU on March 29 2019.

Any deal is secondary to that fact because the EU needs us very materially in terms of trade and many other things, far more than we need it.

Parliament has rejected the wrecking amendments from the unelected House of Lords supporting their unelected friends in the European Commission.

It rejected also the sectarianism of Tory Remainers trying to dislodge their EU withdrawal negotiating team, Labour Remainers trying cynically to damage Corbyn and noisy groups of national chauvinists seeking to put Brussels in control of Scotland and Wales rather than our own elected national government"...

And where did this come from????

  8. That is part of the problem with Brexit though Loz, so many people are disingenuous through out this whole process. We are sure some politicians voted out because they saw an opportunity for more power. Some the other way for the same reasons. Some just lied about how they voted.
Now we have power struggles, deals, lies about deals, false promises and more opportunism. So the real danger here becomes not Brexit, but the process of Brexit and the damage being done on the way. Its all very messy.

  9. We will still get to hang traitors though. Right?

What use is sovereignty if we cannot hand traitors?

  15. Another march today then

    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...arch-against-brexit-london-thousands-expected

Obviously the Guardian has to get a comment in that an opposing march is 'far right'

Having said that, the underlined section doesn't sound like far right to me? Is there a new far right? Can you be further right than far right? If so how far do you have to go? It's all so confusing nowadays

Their protest will be opposed by a far-right UK Unity and Freedom march, which will start in Victoria at 2pm and head to College Green, near Parliament Square. It is expected to be smaller, with a few thousand people attending. Promoters say it will “focus on freedom from the EU, freedom from terror, freedom of speech, freedom from sharia law and unity of all people irrespective of race or creed”. Gerard Batten, the Ukip leader, is expected to be present, but not the former leader Nigel Farage.

  16. If you aren't a Remainder, you are "Far Right". Etc.

If there is a danger that using words like "Brexiteer" is not instilling sufficient outrageous outrage, you have to bust out the big guns and that means calling people "Far Right". It's shorthand for "only a wrong-headed person would disagree with me".

    Trump. Trumptrumptrump.
