British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. That was when people were expected to have common sense and make their own decisions.
Funny how most of us smoked like trains yet there are too many old people surviving and draining the pension pot.

  6. So Corbyn has never once been honest or indeed brave enough to be open about his views on the EU, at least not in any substantial detail, yet he's happy to obstruct and distract proceedings seemingly as though it's what 'the people' want?

He's not been forthright enough to pander to remain voters, nor that of leave voters, yet he and his bunch of misfits think that by being the awkward party that's their quickest way to power?

Genuinely gobsmacked, I just wish he'd be man enough to nail his colours to the mast.

Our current crop of political choices are without question the worst bunch I've ever known at any point in my life.

Surely it's about time we looked outside of career politicians now, enough is enough because this lot are just fucking jokers.

Business leaders, celebrities even, anyone who has the balls to be honest about themselves will do.

  7. Oh and this;

this from a rag that depicts itself as whiter than white, one that has done more doom mongering, stirring and promoting of economic disaster than any other UK based 'media source'

    https://www.theguardian.com/busines...onomy-grows-resilient-despite-political-chaos

And yet so far they're still wrong, although presumably everyone (the public) is too stupid to realise we should have taken cover and cowered in a corner by now?

But they'll keep going, because one day they'll be right, maybe not for long, but as long as the condescending buggers can print the front page 'I told you so' that'll don't them, even if it's just one day.

  8. Closet thug he got to it was declaring allegiance to Palestine and that, if elected he will declare the UK recognise Palestine as a state. Brought out all the flags too.

Wonder how whats left of the Jewish contingent thought about that...

  9. Palestine would be an Arab state now if the British Government had kept its word back in the day.

Politics is no more than lies and deceit and keeping us all in line. Full of shite. When the next financial crash occurs their time will be up.

  12. And I can see why, although I'd like to think we'd take a more measured approach. o_O

  13. "Second referendums are frequent in the EU if the decision on the first goes against EU policy. There have been nine major referendums on substantial membership issues that went against the EU. Three were ignored and four resulted in second referendums. Three of the four referendums were overturned on the second referendum.

The two second referendums in Ireland followed intense periods of “project fear” propaganda by the Irish government. The Irish were promised neutrality and permanent commissioners to change their vote but have now joined the EU Defence Pact and commissioners are appointed on a rotating basis. The Danish referendum on Maastricht was overturned on a second referendum because opt outs were promised. Since Lisbon (2009) these opt outs are in serious jeopardy due to the new flexibility of EU decision making.

The other approach taken to referendums that antagonise the EU is just to ignore them. The Greek bailout referendum was ignored by the Greek Government. The French and Dutch rejected the EU constitution which was then quietly dropped by the EU to be replaced by the Lisbon Treaty in 2009. The Lisbon Treaty reads word for word the same as the Constitution in many places but contains Articles that can only be forced on Member States by a unanimous vote in the EU Council (See flexibility of EU decision making). Lisbon is an EU Constitution that can be “sneaked in” in stages without the need for further Treaties.

The EU has been so successful at bullying populations into line that they now call democracy “populism”. Populism can sometimes be overcome with scaremongering and, as can be seen above, lies, by the EU and member states. There is a clear pattern in the EU of permitting democracy so long as it gives the desired result.

The pressure for a second referendum in the UK is suspiciously identical to the methods used in Ireland."

  17. Just heard that on the radio.

It’s not OK for Russia to meddle in US politics, but its fine for Japanese manufacturers to?

FWIW if they think its that bad, they can take their shite cars and stick them up where the sun doesn’t shine.
