British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

  4. I'm pretty much convinced that May would be the better PM out of the two but as we can't vote it doesn't matter

  5. Hmmm, I am not so sure.

I suspect that whilst May is the obvious and safe choice she is carrying too much baggage and the fresh broom of Leadsom could well be preferable.

Either way, bring it on :upyeah:

  7. I'm inclined to agree but on the other hand the last thing we need is a Conservative Corbyn - in power but with no authority. Leadsom's time will come later if not now, especially if she proves herself as successful cabinet minister, as I would hope she would have the opportunity to do in a May Government. But as PM she will always have a faction against her in the Parliamentary party plotting her downfall.
May kept her powder dry during the referendum campaign and she's absolutely nobody's patsy. She's as tough as Hell and more than a match for the Europhile old guard and the Whitehall Sir Humphreys. Alone in the Cameron's Government "Out means out" has credibility coming from her.
    I'm cautiously optimistic either way.

  8. If your a member of the Conservative party you can. If your not i think it's 3 months before you can vote as a member. Membership is about 20 quid from memory.

  9. No it hasn't yet, its only a proposal.

And who do you think will have to pay to make up for the loss of corporation tax?

  10. And JLR are now manufacturing in China, opening in Slovakia (a move while we were very much in the EU so how did that help the UK?) and also in South America.
We need to protect our future by being global and not insular and racist (for want of a better word ;)) within the confines of the EU inner sanctum.
The future will be bright out of the EU (it doesn't mean we are out of Europe - just the gone wrong, out of control bit run by control freaks on big fat self importance salaries), you will still be moaning ;)
Which country are you thinking of going to - I was thinking a nice house next to the Brno Circuit myself :D

  16. Scotland is still in with a shout then because it only rains here about 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time it's just the drips off the trees you feel.
