British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Yes I think it went through Parliament months ago. There are bloody thousands of them and those poor civil servants :D have to check and make small revisions to ensure they are all fully functioning for the UK. Most are apparently copied over word for word. They have to come into UK law on March 29th. I'd be a rich man if I had a penny for every time that arrogant, smug, superior b'stad James O'Brien (LBC) stated as fact that the EU didn't make any UK laws.....

  4. A nice cheerful message from the EU's Presidents: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...sident-latest-g20-donald-latest-a8660851.html

He went on: “A few days before the vote in the House of Commons, it is becoming more and more clear that this deal is the best possible – in fact the only possible one.

“If this deal is rejected in the Commons we are left with, as was already stressed a few weeks ago by Prime Minister May, an alternative – no deal or no Brexit at all.

“I want to reassure you that the EU is prepared for every scenario.”

They look like the winners so far; either we're hooked under the EU's control with the current deal on offer or we chicken out and Article 50 is withdrawn. Our MP's need to respect the original referendum and find some backbone.

  5. What me?

That's rich coming from someone who reckons he's run a limited company but can't even read what is put in front of him.

Opinion worth jacksh*t? There's the pot calling the kettle African origin.

Well, DukePratty63.....am I bloody glad you weren't my accountant - I would have lost £1000s to the taxman the way you seem to understand things (or don't understand).

Plus if you had been my accountant, you would be my stepson -

In fact I'm more than just bloody glad you weren't.

Even has a go at Suffolk when he's from Staffordshire where the pots come from - ought to know better. especially as I am not from Suffolk - I just live there.

  6. Anyone commented upon the BBC and the fake vicar supporting May on Newsnight?

  7. Saw it this morning but the BBC have been doing this for ages, particularly around politics programmes. Question time is quite known for it

  8. I love how the ineffectual and innocuous Rees-Smaug and Co are held up as examples of the disagreeable, privileged elite these days whilst the real elites, the richest, most shadowy, most powerful individuals and their tools like May, Merkel at al are allowed to scuttle around unremarked and unidentified.

Breathtaking naivety, it would be charming if it weren't so depressing.

And before you ask - DYOR.
