British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. no, i said if it had been 55+plus based on a detailed explanation of what was wanted to be achieved job done.
camaron started a process thats achieved nothing bar a population that feels manipulated and lied too one way or another reinforcing any previous preconceptions of UK and EU democracy. it was and is, just another example of total ineptitude and lack of foresight. westminster thinks you are all mugs.

  3. The Scottish independence vote was at 55.3% to stay within the U.K. and not have independence, which rather proves no matter what the percentage is, the losing side in modern times, only see's a win for democracy when it is their version.

The democratic vote process largely works because we ask those entitled to vote, to vote and if they do then the largest group is the declared majority wish for a direction.

  4. and you never really seen indi supporters, 45% of the country jumping up and down shouting we was robbed. Fact.
the result was respected by the vast majority of Yes voters. Fact.
then there was EVEL, then smith, then the Scotland act, the job loses and promised investments cancelled. then the brexit vote, then the power grab. it was Westminster that didn't respect the result of the 2014 result. there's another Fact for you.
your new to this, i get that, but what your seeing played out here is v,similar to what happened after our vote, accept it.

  5. Scotland must have representatives, of course. Come to think of it two very recent Prime ministers were Scottish.

But she isn’t representative and she keeps banging on in an anti democratic way.

Personally I’d throw her in the Tower and chuck away the key for treason.

  6. Finm, how many times, the people that didn’t vote couldn’t give a Fook, which means they were happy to remain in the uk, 45% my arse... what was it btw, nearer 25% ???

  7. erm ..you?

the continual amount of "polls" you produce claiming more than (insert number) want a new vote as they were lied to ring a bell? is respecting the vote?

and then you have that ^^^ which kills your own respect the result argument does it not? I respect the vote BUT..... is normally the term used that implies lies

What has changed since about 2014 is before it would have been largely, I am angry at the vote, disagree with it but respect it.

That has changed to ..democracy is ruined because I lost so feck democracy, I want my own version

  8. There might be another referendum if this deal fails, epecially if the PM is replaced and certainly if the government falls.

  10. which of course your wrong about that too. dude, everything is recorded, written down. Archived. :D
here's the stats from FMQ's and scottish questions at westminster during the smith and scotland act. the subject was raised 11times by the torys to every one SNP.
since brexit, 52times to every one. the only people that ever bring up Scottish and N/I independence is the opposition and its media, for what should be obvious reasons. and noob of course. those are the facts dude, let it go. :p
tho i have seen the polling on this already, be a good chap and put a 4th option on yer poll. i think you might be surprised. why hog tie yerself to limited options in a terisa may stylie.

  11. dude compared to 2014, you had quite a low turn out, tho, there was a suspiciously high postal vote. honestly bud, stick to what you know. :)

  13. So...if the UK 'Crashes out'/No-Deals'/'Hard Brexits', that will mean the 'Backstop' will be a TEMPORARY (until the EU& UK can agree a trading arrangement that eliminates the need) 'Hard' border in Ireland. Surely the Irish can live together without returning to violence while the deal is done? Over-simplified the issue I know, but....

  14. i think, as an outsider living in EU land, you were all sold a bunch of media driven lies..
i watched from the sidelines as emotive subjects NHS, Immigration etc were used to support a leave or remain agenda.
The result.. a split population with weak leadership, not the best outcome i think or one that was wanted..
on the positive side, it has started the voice of discontent in the EU mainland of the EU political direction that somehow has crept up in the guise of Monetary union, but the danger is going to be in what context the discontent will bloom.. if you think of the 'Condition' that led up to the early rise to power of the Nazi party, we have been heading in the same direction for the last few years, abet with more Media intervention.

    Thanks Merkel :/

  15. You live inside the EU, you say. (as do we at the moment btw). I wonder what media driven lies you see and on which side of the EU argument they fall?

  16. You said they didn't talk about it only the opposition and media did, but there you are, on video, on camera, them talking about it and on the media.

The point here fin and not just the snp, pretty much those who lost the democratic vote and willingly took part knowing only one side would and could win, as is our history of democratic votes, have changed, the majority of us haven't.

Whether it is the indi vote, the brexit vote, a general election vote or your local councillor vote, if some now want to junk how democracy works, then they are kidding themselves what they are asking for is democracy.

  17. Sooooo, less than 25% then :joy:

  18. Just to add. They have learnt nothing in the last 3 1/2 years. They tried to paint leaving the EU as a vote for financial armageddon. People didn't believe them then and they don't now, but they keep going. The main criticism of the Remain side post referendum was that they didn't focus on the positives of remaining, just went into 'Project Fear', they even admitted it themselves and that it was a mistake. So why are they doing the exact same thing now, but on steroids? Is it maybe because they don't have positives, apart for for themselves and their careers?
