British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. La Linea, adjacent to Gibraltar on the Spanish side, is a pretty charmless town.

    Just sayin'

  2. Too arrogant to listen.

    The Empire Union.

  3. I'm surprised by the results so far of this poll, except that 'Take the deal and move on' is polling low, I didn't expect 'remain' to be so high. What's clear is that after nearly 3 years of the Brexit debate (if you count the time spent campaigning before the referendum) everyone is still evenly split.

I still think 'Take the deal and move on' is eventually what the HoP will get to. They won't go for leave with no deal, even though that's what it legally defaults to, but are equally unlikely to agree on the wording of another referendum if that is the only remedy. For that to happen A50 would have to be extended and the EU would insist that 'Remain' was a possible outcome for them to agree. That will go down like a lead balloon with the electorate - 'we are having another referendum and the EU have had a say in the wording'.

So the current deal will probably pass with the highest number abstains in parliamentary history, eventually. And we'll still be arguing about Brexit in a decade :(

  4. Clear? really? I think you will find the almost even split is moving further towards a no deal Brexit
    This from a year ago...

There is only movement one way on the Ducati Forum, this after much debate and it's fuck the brussels bullies

53% to 36% as the new poll stand btw (brw for finm)

  5. I meant the UK as a whole, Parliament is split and polling doesn't really show a great deal of movement. But Yes if we left the Ducati Forum to do it Brexit would be done and dusted by now.

  9. technically, the majority of the electorate did not vote in favour of Brexit. The majority of people who voted did.

  10. Which technically means 76% wanted out or were happy to be out (only Technically mind)

  11. errr actually it is crashing out. You don't automatically start trading under WTO rules. There are negotiations to be done there also. These cover tariffs and quotas. We are currently a member through the EU not as an independent country.

  16. It is, but if you read the signatories, It is an agreement between the U.K. Government and the Republic of Ireland and NOT the eu.
