British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Disagree. Other than the trains.

I have done a few projects over the years (last one was 3 years ago) and without exception we were a pita because we constant;y chased and harassed to get stuff done, rather than allow ‘Spanish time’ or ‘french lunch’ get in the way

  2. The trade deal with turkey has nothing to do with Ford or transit vans.
    Specifically to transit vans?

    The Transit Van Agreement. (TVA).

I thought Turkey / EU had trading arrangements long before 2012? I can’t be arsed to look it up.

  3. LOL. Good one : o D

  4. Definitely, I think the UK needs ‘sorting out’ and being in the EU won’t help that. No reason not to stay friends with them though. Not sure they think the same, maybe just don’t want to let other countries think it’s easy to leave.

Think I’m still going up a hill o_O

Would be good to see politicians that are passionate about what they think is best for the UK. Tories and Labour etc just seem to slag each other off.
To be fair the SNP, to me, come across as passionate about what they think is best for Scotland - wish they were like that for the whole of the UK.

  5. tho you have said this before, why dont i trust your arse over elbow motives? why aint you convincing me?

  6. I'll give you a hint. Do the fecking homework I set for you.

You haven't completed one assignment yet and I'm talking about advanced stuff here. No wonder you're feeling lost and confused.

  7. Loz, write your posts in Yellow, fin will believe you and may even disappear for 5 minutes with the laptop, make sure your cam is not on though okay?

  8. what makes you think they are not? genuine question btw. having a poor neighbor aint the most desirable outcome if your an exporting nation, which we are, i'm sure the north and south west of England could say the same for the other two. uk elections are generally won and lost in the south and south east constituencies. just by the way barrnet works it's possible to argue the SNP have done more for them in attempting to highlight and protect the poorer areas in England and wales than either of the other two.

  10. Spot on

I used to believe the SNP was a breed apart and perhaps even honourable and worthwhile. Again, a long hard look dispelled that impression.

For instance, the subject of Indy. They pushed for the Ref without much of any preparation for a "Out" vote. No real strategy for currency, defence, joining the EU, etc. In fact, if you want Independence, why would you want to then join the EU once you got it? To a suspicious mind, it may have looked like sabre rattling and a stunt in order to blackmail the UK government into providing concessions. Surely not possible.

Coupled with that, the Scottish Government is a lot like an elevated County Council, subject to Westminster in many fundamental ways but allowed greater latitude than an ordinary County Council. They are Kings of their sandpit, allowed to run any initiative or social project they like, safe in the knowledge that anything that goes wrong can be blamed on Westminster whilst anything that goes right is entirely Holyrood's triumph. I#'m sure that cannot be right, either.

If I were a cynical man, it would be hard to continue to admire a government like that.

  11. Well, the EIB website is completely transparent. Why don’t you look it up and satisfy your curiosity?

I’m sure you’ll find the loan and details of it.

Also, in. Exige’s link - it mentions Farage and other MEP’s raising written responses. - they will be a matter of record, to be found on the EU websites.

Never trust a google search but amongst the first hits of Ford EIB loan is one for £450M in 2010 and the plant that closed reported huge losses.

I deliberately mentioned the “EU loan” story as likely being the EIB when someone here asked and I said at the outset the Facebook copy and paste would be distorted as it could only be the EIB.

  12. i dont feel lost and confused. i got over that hurdle about 5-6years ago.
i just think yer approach is wrong.

  14. To be honest, it’s what I hear / read on the news and radio etc. I don’t delve any deeper than that.

    Perhaps I should.

  15. you dont actually believe that, tho some of it is close to the mark, for an elevated county council they have fair left their mark across the world. however, what you think on here aint that important. its what they (uk gov) try to promote out there, and ferk me they have been trying hard.
    why?

  17. Hey! You must have some Turkish cars to mend the finm

  18. The Scottish punch well above their weight and, just like the English, they do this despite their government, not because of it.

(This is in Chapter 16 finderman, if you are actually doing the reading)

  19. Don’t tell me, you’ve got a half read book on this subject as well.......
