British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Told you :Finger:

  2. oh the short memories again,, Ball-less Johnstone was being pilloried as a bafoon long long before Brexit was ever mentioned by anybody ( except of course Farage ) i am not agreeing with that or not, just highlighting the short, or is it selective ,memories of some..

  3. "no prolitariate " ,,, what sort of world do some people live in, ( is that the sort of unreality that gets people voting tory ), i know it is getting harder and harder under this tory regime to get a paying wage ( apart from zero hours slave labour ) but there are plenty of them,, mostly mistakingly voting for Brexit

  4. I think they conflate personal ambition and power with what they believe to be good for the country.

  5. They all say when they get into power that they want to make the country a place that benefits all and not just the wealthy.

Within a month that's all forgotten as they get bought by those with the most money.

  6. i believe they all or most at least have a genuine belief they have the right policies and vision.i dont think they on the right are evel. or those on the left are just hippies.
you can have lightnings approach, ie dog eat dog. tough shit,Victorians revisited. survival of the fittest.
or you can have a more left approach where its believed employers and leaders are only as good as their staff and society as whole. and its possibly cheaper and more productive to treat them well rather than increased security costs social or otherwise that again hit the poorest disproportionately.

  7. but saying all that.
    we will see.

  8. Well that's a relief ;)

  9. I do not agree that the right, by implication, is the opposite of this.

  10. only your views on good or bad society differ to mine then?

  11. I think there would be wide agreement on what is good or bad in society from most people. Where they might disagree is how that is achieved.

  12. needs must.
    present climate..inclusive or compliant?.

  13. We will find out soon but I am pretty certain that the current government will use Brexit as an excuse to tax your average person more whilst the rich pay even less tax.

  14. We all know surely that the the richer the rich are and the less tax they pay, the more trickles down to us plebs... :)
Thus we all benefit from deregulation and low tax regimes, you'd have to be seriously stupid not to understand that...

  15. I think increasingly that those on low incomes will be taken out of the tax system. There is no point in a Conservative government taking away with one hand and giving back with the other. This is exactly the opposite of Labour under Gordon Brown who deliberately locked the low paid into state welfare dependency; I wonder why he did that ?

  16. Brown,,, closet tory, back stabbing coniving shit house,, that s why ...

  17. @johnv, I think Finm might be Scottish and stuck in the 1970's.

  18. They have already talked about 15% corporation tax rates. That loss of revenue will have to be found somewhere. I can guarantee who will end up paying for it. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Vat rate increased.

  19. He prefers to be called "Scottish" and he is stuck in the Highlands, IIRC.

  20. Half Scottish :Finger:
