British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Fin, I think that vote was about self identifying as Scottish

  2. If May (or her sucessor) tries that, there will be a vote in the HoC which will fail. Today the EU have made it plain that the UK government can stop Brexit at any time without any consultation with other member states.

So the only way No deal/crash out can effectively happen is if there is another referendum and the people vote for it. Personally I don't think that is very likely.

  3. Just noticed the ‘change your vote’ button, very funny.

  4. If they stop brexit how do they justify it ?

Listening to prime ministers questions she was asked repeatedly about another vote and gave roughly the same no answer every time. Even May seems to think another vote would be ridiculous.

It was pathetic really how different people kept asking about another vote.
Perhaps they are trying a child’s approach of keep asking till I get what I want n

  5. We had a referendum for 'exactly that' to leave the EU, it could not have been simpler :)

  6. That’s funny, she just says that she is not capable of parliamental ejaculation, well nothing surprises me anymore so she might have tools available to her we don’t know of ( yet )

  7. There is not a majority in the HoC for a No Deal Brexit. MPs would call a failed vote for no deal exit a good enough reason to suspend leaving whilst a further negoatation was made which avoids No Deal. This would probably lead to a referendum with the public being offered Leave with no deal, Leave with Norway/ single market or Remain.

May is entitled to her opinion re no second vote. It doesn't mean she is right, nor that it won't happen.

I think she is pathetic in her insistance that she is right when there is obviously no support for her plans. That she keeps putting it all off at the last minute is a disgrace and embarrasing. She looks like a school kid lying about their homework on a Monday morning - do you think she will say the dog ate the deal soon?

  8. Its possible that you are right. A second vote would confirm it.

  9. So what would the questions be? Surely they would be diluted with more than 2 which only means the 'losers' would win

  10. Honestly, I just think the government are looking for a way to remain in the EU.

If she does give in and agree to another vote I am going to keep emailing her asking her to buy me a Ducati.

  11. Really need to stop with the asking for another vote, tbh I'd vote the same way.

Has the PM resigned yet? They really need someone to lead based on the vote, to leave and basically tell the EU thanks for the offer, the UK don't like it, no deal.

  12. May will tell you yes she will buy you one, and at the last minute tell you not today...

  13. Nail on the head, don't be fooled to think the UK was ever meant to leave the EU

  14. The majority of MPs have made it clear that they will vote against No Deal exit. It won't happen (unless a second ref takes place and the people vote for it).

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  15. Do you think it’s worth me trying the email thing ?

Which Ducati should I ask for

  16. It means that the most popular choice would win. Its entirely possible that the public will vote for No Deal - isn't it?

  17. If you want a V4 ask for a V2, if a V2 ask for a V4 :eyes:

  18. Ask for a first edition Mutley. Then you won't be dissapointed when it never arrives.

  19. Depends how things are worded - if leave on WTO rules was an option against other 'real' options like stay in then yes... it won't be so simple I'm afraid, but if it was we have already voted for exactly that :):upyeah:

  20. The establishment has learned its lesson.

A second ref will not feature a "no Deal" option as mentioned ^^. The only recourse for the electorate then would be to not vote in the second ref.
