Awesome news! fitted the exact start cables and the bike fired straight up. Took me approximately 2 hours all in. Thanks for all the help, appreciated muchly. was pretty convinced i was going to have to change the solenoid also but happy i didn't.
Good news then . Pleased you got a result. How was the kit you bought, good quality and worth the money ?? Enquiring minds wanna know lol
Really pleased with the result, both in that the bikes fixed and the added punch to the start process. whereas pressing the starter before used to start the bike it seemed labored and half hearted catching on the second or third rotation. With these cables it just seems more urgent and catches pretty much straight away. The kit seems to be really high quality and all the little touches like alcohol wipes etc.. means your not fishing about for stuff. For me the tricky bit was running the extra cable through a pretty congested area of the bike, but in all honesty if i could do it then anyone can as i'm by no means a mechanic. The only thing which might have made life a little easier would have been some online instructions with higher resolution photos, the printed ones you get with the kit are ok but would have been nice to have a bit more detail. well worth the money in summary.
eddi from the welly, real nice dude. will always give you the time of day. more of a harly/gs guy tho. but we don't hold that against him.
