You can still do it, but it's a mini arms race between the broadcasters and the 'proxy' developers. I can't for the life of me remember which one we're using but we use it for watching US netflix and I'm pretty sure they are ahead of BBC as well. I'll try to find the email subscription, it didn't cost much and we just set what region we want to appear to be connecting from; EMEA, US , etc.
