I think my dealer worked out what the charges would be on my bike, and winced. Plus they know I’m happy to pay by bank transfer.
I think that most dealers (of anything) will sometimes bend the rules or find loopholes to hit targets and maximise profits.
I think that’s why you often see pre reg’ed zero mile bikes for sale at dealers a month or two before the new reg, esp jap dealer who have to order x amount of bikes for the year rather than build to order
As you’ve paid your deposit they can class that as a sale to the uk importer so they have made their quota even though it won’t be registered till March. Had you not bought it then maybe they would have “sold it to themselves” and registered it and then knock a bit off it, but as you’ve bought it they’ve passed the discount on to you?
