  2. How much is/ was the bike?

  3. With a few extras 11700

  4. So their card fees could be around £200 on that. I guess it depends what model you're buying and the discount they've given you already, if any.

  5. Biggest discount around, also I stipulated ditch the OR tyres and supply with Metzeler SE1, and they are not charging Labour for accessories to be fitted and wired etc.

  6. Must be a high profit bike if they’re doing all that and letting you pay by card! What bike is it?

  7. Yamaha tracer 9GT. There would be 2 reasons.
    1. They will offer a below cost price to hit their sales targets thus maintaining their trade discount with Yamaha.
2…..I have a theory , but would prefer not to put it in print.

  8. Dealer didn't say a thing when I said I was paying for the V2S on my credit card (because I wanted the points on my credit card).
Paid off the balance in full immediately.

  9. Fair enough. I know that some yam dealers do sometimes bend the rules to hit targets.

  10. I think my dealer worked out what the charges would be on my bike, and winced. Plus they know I’m happy to pay by bank transfer.

  11. I think that most dealers (of anything) will sometimes bend the rules or find loopholes to hit targets and maximise profits.

  12. I think that’s why you often see pre reg’ed zero mile bikes for sale at dealers a month or two before the new reg, esp jap dealer who have to order x amount of bikes for the year rather than build to order

  13. This one is not pre reg, it will be a 22 plate.

  14. As you’ve paid your deposit they can class that as a sale to the uk importer so they have made their quota even though it won’t be registered till March.
Had you not bought it then maybe they would have “sold it to themselves” and registered it and then knock a bit off it, but as you’ve bought it they’ve passed the discount on to you?

  15. It’s happened to me with cars too, it really is the luck of the draw!
