it's all been said above (apart from last two ) - Good to hear it's not too bad and your bod 'got away with it'.
Cheers All.... What really p*ssed me off was the fact I couldn't lift the b*gger up again.........I felt such a useless tw*t. .......this is from a shorta*se, who in the 80s could lift an 850 Guzzi engine complete with gearbox, by standing in front of it; putting an arm round each cylinder and carrying it from one bench to another........or lifting from the bench down to the floor; and at the gym I was squatting 380lbs I'm beginning to think my muscles are wasting away.....beginning to worry me. AL
I can believe it. About 15 years back I crashed on a bend on a country road, ended up face down in the verge with a broken collarbone & cracked ribs but totally winded and couldn't move. The bike was about 10 feet away from me, also on the verge with the engine racing away/back wheel still going round. I was there for a good 10 minutes during which time at least half a dozen cars passed by and didn't stop to help (or even check if I was alive). In the end an old bloke (ex-biker) stopped and switched the bike off, got it back on it's wheels and helped me contact someone who could help.
Bloody Nora Al!!!! Just caught this as the title doesn't give much away and thought it was something else Glad your ok though If I had been there I would have saved you armed with cellotape and scissors and a big hug Likewise I saved ;-) efc after touring Hereford and his little drop Have you still got a taped up indicator Pete?
Back to the gym for you then laddie. Don't despair, weight training will do those old muscles wonders.
Thanks Viv - all sorted now, just trying to finish reassembly while moving house and all the other day to day stuff.
Approx 3 miles down the road. Much bigger place, nicer area, large garage for the bikes and near the kids schools and friends. renting my place out from Friday, away to best mate's daughter's christening (for which I am godfather) down in S Wales Friday- Monday, then in to new place Monday night. feckin hard work moving stuff around just using a Saab convertible, though (used a van to get the big stuff out, now just finishing all the "shoite" off).
They were posted Monday, but missed last collection.......... Still, I guess the postmans' horses on my side and your side of the country have died.
Probably come tomorrow Will keep an eye out for them My magnetic pen came today and I have searched the bike for the stray nut to no avail
Bit of adrenalin helps. I was practicing u-turns on an fz1 about 18 mths back, stalled it at about 2mph and dropped the bugger lol. Ended up on my back like a beetle. Managed to pick it up on my own (best part 190kg) and that's with l/s bracchial plexus (f*cked up arm). Was bit worried I was gonna dislocate my shoulder but seemed to lift ok - hope to not try it again though as got off scot free damage wise other than a pea size ding in the r&g!!
Don't be too hard on yourself.I did a similar thing a few weeks ago and it cost me £450 for a replacement side panel.
