Calling Aprilia Rsv4 Owners

  1. @Kingfixer can tell you

  2. I'm keeping it now in the short term. I was going to buy a 2018 model but after seeing the new model at the show I'm going to wait for that.
I was ready to part ex it but the dealer never got back to me after I asked a couple of simple questions about the 2018 bike!!!

  3. My mate has a '17 RF model with the Akra & 'race map'. The noise from it is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, easily the best sounding machine in the world. It's very nice to ride and quick, although doesn't pull anything on my 2011 S1000RR.
If he didn't have one I'd probably have bought one over the V4S to be honest, huge cost saving and the noise is just silly.

  4. The RSV4 is a great bike for the money. Having a Tuono I can say the RSV4 is a little cramped for me. The Pani is roomey compared, the service cost is about the same as the Duc's over here. IMO the V4S is a better bike but the cost saving is hard to ignore.

  5. Do the RSV4's struggle with noise restrictions on track days

  6. While ive not done a track day on mine...yes, but a full akra system with baffle will pass...but depends on where youre going...

  7. I'm very tempted by the RSV4. Always had a soft spot for Aprilia.. Plenty of members on here say good things about them.

  8. I think there cracking bit unfortunately I can't reach the floor at all when I'm sat on it, it's got such a high seat.

  9. Just to add how good the akra system is (from a noise point of view) mine with a stock header and austin rear always got an advisory at the MOT - the full system without the baffle in passed straight through...

  10. Gonna visit Gem shop on Friday so I'll have a sit on one.
Seem to be a lot of the RF models for sale on eBay...

  11. Must fish out an old vid I took. My uncle’s RSV4 with Akra system (chopped shorter as the standard one is rather long), spitting flames in his back garden one evening

  12. My mate did a 98dB day at Donny with the Akra and no baffle and had no issues at all.

  13. Its hard enough to meet restrictions on most tracks on my RRV :joy:

  14. You will need serious baffling to get one past a noise test on most tracks. Cadwell, Anglesey, Donington loud days. Oulton, Combe, Brands, Snetterton unlikely unless a 102 or higher day.

They are very loud with a race can.

  15. But that’s driveby, not static, and if he was using full revs on the straights it may well trigger even donington

  16. The RRV comes in around 101 - 103 static with my longest silencer inc baffle

  17. The first day we did with it was at Cadwell and I think it was a 102dB day, passed with no issues at all.
He was definitely full throttle all the way round and we had no problems, and they were black flagging a lot of bikes so he definitely wasn't triggering anything.

  18. I got black flagged for noise at Donington on a 98db day with the standard can on. With the race can fitted I think I would only ever get on Donington noisy days and no other tracks.

Another reason for me to do more euro events. :D

  19. I have seen these things hot 113 with a full A&R system. All depends on length of can or amount of baffling
