Yapping has nothing to do with one's abilities at other disciplines. I never cease to be surprised at how much credence is given to people's rattle these days. I remember a time when results mattered and talk didn't play any part in perceptions of a person's worth in sports or indeed anywhere else. I suspect this view of the world has come from across the pond. Cal has done well, he is a bike racer not a yapping diplomat and all the better for it in my book. Give the lad a break, we should all be proud of his success on the Yamaha.

Exactly what I was thinking. Stoner gave Ducati their first GP championships. Were the fans grateful? No they focused on the "moaning". Cal is the first Brit for decades to mix it with the big boys in the sports premier class. And now everyone just focuses on the way he talks. Maybe people have just become obsessed with celebrities.
This isnt aimed at anybody personally so lets not fall out but this really gets on my tits this does. Don't Dorna need a dig or 10? Lets be fair about this, the series is ridiculously supportive of Italian and Spanish riders more so than other nationals so why not bring it to everybody's attention? I'll say it again, he's English/British (whatever) and clearly a huge amount more talented than many British/English fans gave him credit for (some still refuse too). Im not going to start blasting Rossi again (no point now stoners not there) but it seems its ok for him to act the fool and everybody just gushes 'loveyness' in his direction when he does, but when somebody else does it its not on. The point is IF Cal was trying to take the piss out of Dorna and its got our little forum talking about it then he's done a good job and its worth discussing. It needs discussing otherwise what bloody hope is there for our lads? Dorna: 'British passport sir?' His entire team and crew is made up of French, Italians and Spaniards, im sure all he hears week in week out is broken English so its bound to rub off and I'd suspect the vast majority of the press conferences he attends are also done in a foreign language because our great fucking nations broadcasters dont seem to be bothered. The lads an extreme talent, Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, all of them rate him more and more each week. Non say a bad word about him. GPone (Italian site) absolutely love him and the Italians want to adopt him (read their reviews of him). Its a bit of a piss take that our sodding nation cant get behind him and see his talent. I see/read the same thing with Moto2. You have Scott Redding (he's English by the way) riding like a fucking god every week and its widely regarded that he's hugely handicapped by his size so with him being at the top of the championship says he's pretty fucking special wouldnt you say? Then all i read is how good fucking Pol Espargaro is, just what we need that isnt it? another top flight spaniard given a factory type seat..... here you go lad, have it on a silver platter. Marquez getting his elbow down? Woo-Hoo, Mr Redding has been doing that for years. If people want to support the Italian or Spanish riders thats up to them, but don't moan in a few years time when theres no British in the top flight because its you/us lot that should be getting (and keeping) them there. Next time you want to emblazon your cars, track bikes, trailers etc etc with a dayglo number with a nod towards Motogp try swapping 46 for 35. If you dont do 'Dayglo' then give number 45 a try. Theres newer younger riders out there who need the leg up now.
