Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by alexevo, Jul 2, 2014.

  1. Can you do the same for me? I'll drop them around this avo lol. Looks like its gonna cost £30 plus to send them!

  2. I was guessing about 20 - 25 if I had to go up to the post office....for mine that is.... ive got an Austin pipe on the end of the link pipe which is virtually welded on there so its going with it....

  3. Try Hermes there brilliant less than 10kilos & less than 1mt long About £7.80 :)
I sent my clothes to the TT this year 10kilos 13 quid :)

  5. That sounds awesome Comfy

    Pics when its on please

  6. please stop posting such desirable mods..the black is a=great i have the same 1098s now you got me wanting...its all spend spend spend with ducati lol

  7. Yeah... Just about to get started on a supermoto build now.... Depending on how they come back quality wise I'll get the hyper done as well.... You almost become a shopaholic but for bike stuff.

  8. I have used camcoat on my mille for the headers to keep the rear shock cool but i wrapped them in dei tape as well and the two together made a big difference to the heat, i can put my hand on the rear header now with the engine running and ride it all day without the shock going off.

  9. What type of dei tape? The wrap or the silver tape stuff? Or another?

  10. That's good to know....did you ever run it without the tape....(id rather if I could just keep it with the coating) im guessing that over time the exhaust bandage gets scrappy, and the reason for asking that is that on mine its a major ballache getting the pipe off (to get any section off the whole thing has to come out as its all packed in there so tightly...)

  11. You could also use exhaust wrap on particularly hot sections as well, as a belt and braces.

I used Thermotec on the Guzzi headers and its holding up quite well. I wouldn't use wrap if you do a lot of wet weather riding but if your a limp wristed dry riding woofter like wot I am, its Ok.

Its bloody awful stuff to apply and then spray though, make sure you use the oldest set of overalls you have and don't apply it in the front room, unless you're looking for a divorce that is.

    Thermo-Tec : Products by category

You can buy it from E-bay, Amazon and several car dealers, just do a Google search

    Just a thought

  12. Thermo-Tec : Clamp-On Heat Shield

Interesting product for 70mm termi headers whereby the heat shield on the rear pot is missing. To protect rear master reservoir etc.

  13. It was the dei wrap that i used on mine and it went on really well, the best way to fit it is to wet it so it goes soft and then wrap the headers and let it dry. They do a sealing spray as well in numerous colours but i have not tried it. I haven't tried the ceramic on it's own but they reckon it reduces temps by upto 30%. There is another company called zircotec that has good reviews as well.

  14. The wrap cool. Also wear gloves as that stuff is itchy as a bastard. I applied mine wet too. Easier when wet. :upyeah:

  15. Another question.... How durable is the coating.... Is it easily scratched or no?

  16. No... Heh.... Everyone thinks I'm going for performance... It really is the last on my list (in fact not on my list)! This for heat reasons... Trying to get it to run a bit cooler.... I've gone for the blue but the bloke tells me the process is the same.... Does it scratch easily?

  17. So if I get the exhausts ceramicly coated I'm going to need to remap my motor?!

  18. Interesting Steve

I've been running mine for quite a while now with no re-map and not had any problems. If anything with the performance chip for the end cans I'd say the bike runs a little rich.

  19. I want to do it for heat rather than performance too. In 30deg + days, anything that makes it more bearable is a bonus. I dont cope with heat as well as I do the cold.

  20. Well that slots the coating into the queue ahed of CJS.
