Carbon Dipping

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by welderman, Mar 23, 2013.

  1. The only reason for this is bling

  2. It's very similar to laying a cardboard cut-out of a supermodel over a munter.

  3. :frown: Now that sounds like a good idea...I'm still with the OP, for the right part of the bike, it might be a nice bit of bling.

  4. "Camo dip" now that sound interesting....

  5. Yep, It's bling, of course it is. Are seriously suggesting that people change parts on a road bike to carbon to save weight???
I'd be far better of as AirCon says, going on a diet or at least having a shit before going for a ride. Lets keep it real.
And Char, how can you say this doesn't belong on a Ducati? Have you seen a Pikes Peak???

  6. I try to avert my eyes

  7. Ha, I guess there is no helping some people...

  8. I think it looks very good. Particularly like the wheels I've seen done, BUT how hard wearing is it/resistant to stone chips etc ?

  9. Ar....the naysayers.....if it looks great and you're happy why not :upyeah:

no different to painting a stripe on the tank imo

  10. Looks good. But it does sound pricy.

  11. Tacky is in the eye of the beholder, if you don't like dipped carbon then that's absolutely fine I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste.

Please tell me these lightweight spacers are for a racing or track bike because if not then I struggle to get my head around what difference this will make to a road bike....Still it's your bike and your spacers I guess. Prehaps it's all in the mind?

  12. Great, personally I don't like old bikes.........

  13. So you painted them Mr R? I dont see how this is any different.

  14. I had some bit done and they wasnt as expensive as this image.jpg

  15. I have to admit welderman that stuff looks spot on.

I guess the look is pretty much the same as some real carbon bling parts like carbon airtubes, headlight surround on the old 916 series that do feck all really.Cheaper to just get the standard parts dipped by the looks of your stuff.

However my carbon wheels and swingarm made a big difference to bike handling but a lot of folks don't trust carbon for these parts also.Spotted this on youtube if you fancy the carbon look but don't trust the real thing for wheels.
