Carbon Fibre Helmet

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by ymfb, Jun 11, 2015.

  1. Currently using the X-Lite 802r ultra carbon nice and light

  2. If it's got to be carbon this is no use to you but I bought the AGV K5 a few weeks ago
that has a groove in the lining for glasses it even has a little label saying glasses
Hitting a pigeon wrote that helmet off so I went for the Pista Carbon

  3. does the Pista have a glasses grove ?

  4. It doesn't and I don't think glasses would fit
the area where the arms would go is very solid, I wear contacts because I didn't want the hassle of glasses with my helmet. I realise not everybody can wear contacts

  5. I'm going to try an XL XLite X-802R Ultra Carbon SBK Graphics at Smartriders

  6. That's scuppered that one then as I tried one the other week and thought it was great. Looks like I'm looking again myself then!

  7. Don't get the Nexx my visor doesn't shut properly with quick release system fitted at £300 I expect better from a lid

  8. like this

  10. Shakeys dad, what is better about it than the RX7GP, I have two and really like them, just not the price or the wind noise.

  11. it just feels a nicer place to put your head. and feels lighter

  12. I considered an x lite but not for long. I have an 801 Ago Rep. After 18 months the paint started peeling off the front above the visor. They had used a basic white helmet and applied the rep paint scheme and never keyed the surface it's still shiny white where the paint came off
I don't have the confidence an x lite will still look nice after a few months wear whereas I have an old AGV that looks new after 10 years
You pays your money you take your chance
I have seen other X lite reps AGO and Hailwood since and they look as crap as mine

  13. I am going to try an X-lite x802r at Moto Central, probably this Saturday. I think they look fab. I intend to go for the basic carbon i.e no race-rep paintwork to fall off :)
My old Quantum F has served me well all this years but I need a light lid as my neck is knackered + I loathe the Arai visor mechanism.
