If I were you I'd go with the Aluminium tank. The reason is this, an aluminium tank will be better in a crash, and also have a measure of repairability. A carbon tank also can be made to be a superb load cell in a crash, and also have repairablity, but the truth of the matter is many aren't made that well. They rely on lots of nice shiny gelcoat and poor wet lay production methods and a big dose of the tank repair resin sloshed about in it. Vinylester resins are impervious to fuel and oils when used as receptacles , polyester and epoxy resins don't fare as well, but Vinylester resins are crap to work with and cost more as well. If you're really lucky they'll never weep, if you're not the porosity will eventually allow leaks- not deluge, might just be a 'sweat' but fuel loss none the less. The other thing with carbon tanks is unless they've got kevlar or an aramid in the mix, they'll splinter really nicely when it goes over. The other thing they won't have, which isn't a requirement in an aluminium tank, but is in a composite fuel cell is a punture proof bladder - cost alot, and normally have a 10 year lifespan. Don't get me wrong, composite tanks are the way to go for super bling, but the cost of a proper tank that weighs under a kilo with a fuel cell is a lot of money. Just go with the aluminium one, and at least should you deck it, a tin basher has half a chance of bringing it back to life for you
