Carl Fogarty........

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Il Presidente, Oct 16, 2013.

  1. I liked him, I was just getting into bikes and he really stood out. He (to me) always gave the impression that he he knew he was on a good crack and enjoyed himself doing what he obviously loved.

Foggy... Always whining - if it wasn't the bike, which was the best at the time, it was about the fact he wasn't getting enough recognition - probably pissed off because some copper had pulled him over and said "who do you think you are, Barry Sheene?"

or he couldn't get into 500GP's as it was all a conspiracy.

You couldn't ever knock his riding, but to a bloke who was getting into bikes and bikesport I never really understood what he had to whine about - and there was a lot of whining and whining about stuff that didn't need whining about.

Chili on the other hand just came across as a thoroughly fun bloke to be in the paddock with. If I was have a brolly chick I'd have probably let him stick it in me! But foggy just looked like Mr Punch without his stick.

  5. Agree....Italian cool (and not so cool ) at it's best.
Seem to remember hearing (from Julian Ryder?) he's running a deck-chair rental business on Italian costa somewhere.
Sounds about right.......could be bol###ks too.

  6. I notice Foggy's still got "the eyes" when he gets on a bike

  7. Chilli does a bit of instruction on the Focused Events Italian track days, he was at one my mate did at Mugello.

  8. Also remember Chili storming into the "studio" interview in his dressing gown still looking for a fight.....cool:cool:

Shame I can't find it anywhere on YouTube.

  11. Il Presidente, close but no cigar :upyeah:

The funny bit I remember is when they are doing the normal post race podium interviews (probably SkySport) in a makeshift studio at the track. Foggy is being interviewed and Chili enters stage right in his dressing gown looking for some more agro, think he was ushered away before the handbags came out and got too serious.
