  1. 10 owners in 16 years suggests it’s a bit hardcore and highly strung for most people. Perhaps sir would prefer a Panamera?

  2. If it’s cheap enough…. An engine rebuild and running gear- jobs a good un… Legendary mezger engine….

definitely an indulgent toy mind… :D

  3. They’re pretty bomb proof these. Mileage wouldn’t bother me.

A lot of these types of cars change hands a lot. It’s a box ticking exercise for many.

They are, a very harsh road car though, especially the club sport and especially on cup 2’s

  4. So…. It’s started.

Just bought a nice set of Kline inconel (zirconium coated) equal length headers for the 911. Next on the list is a pair of do88 intercoolers with hose kit and plenum. Then finish it off with a full Akrapovic (decat) system… Fiendish eh?

I’ve ummed and ahed what to do. It’s such a great car, I can’t think of anything better for the dosh. So I’m biting the bullet and going full send…. Well, not quite full send but a bit send….

  6. Remap?

  7. Oh yes. Fit all the hardware followed by a dyno remap. Not interested in meth injection silliness but should see a reliable 700 bhp on there. More than enough for me… The transmission (PDK) is the restriction. These engines are pretty bombproof but the transmission would require some serious upgrade if you push up the power.

  8. At 700 brake it’ll be an absolute weapon mate

  10. A mate of mine had one (997) with similar power.

    Not much would touch it

  12. Yeah, loads of bikers took me on…. And got a shock :imp: But I’ll never forget one lad pulling past me on a white 1198 on his back wheel. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen… Handed me my arse he did :D

  13. It’s not easy to make fast bikes actually go fast is it. Nice to behold when it does happen

  14. Absolutely, this lad had skills. Could ride the wheels off it. Nice to see, as you say. But his mate wasn’t so clever and when he went way over the white line on a left hander, I backed off :astonished:

  16. I was looking at meth injection kits for my R53 Cooper S the other day and £300 for huge gains (130bhp over stock, 70bhp over its current power) seems like a no-brainier if big numbers are the intended outcome. My car is already pretty manic at approx 210bhp and it’d probably be absolutely mental when pushing 300 gee gees so uprated suspendies and brakes should be higher on the shopping list.

  17. Within reason, when it comes to older vehicles, I tend to prefer higher mileage examples to ones which have sat around gathering dust, as their parts tend to wear out in a fairly predictable manner, whereas garage/driveway queens seem to suffer more unexpected failures.

  18. ive had mine 4 years done about 2k in it. its epic. like a bike but with 4 wheels. what was the last bid on it?

  19. Generally if you speak to anyone in the know, they say pretty similar things aswell mate. I for one have had more grief with low milers than high mileage cars
