  1. Also dropping your chest protector on the track in a fast corner is not ideal, perhaps too much time on Super Mario Cart in his formative years, so possibly all his parents fault....

  2. Superb race.
Big shame for FQ, he should have eased off and pulled up the zip but he maybe thought he could get the chest protector out without the zip going so far down and being sort of stuck with gaping leathers. We could not work out what was going on at first..
About 3 -4 laps to go he nearly high sided, just managed to stay on the bike, that activated his airbag suit. This is what started the problem for him. Maybe he calculated the risk/reward for trying to get the zip back up, against some kind of penalty. Could have been better or worse but he still has valuable championship points. In fact a good advantage considering bad luck in two races now.(arm pump dropped him a load of points a few races back)

As to continuing to ride with inflated leathers, we are not in a position to say how tight they were. Only he knows that.

Otherwise, what a cracking race and the season is wide open still for several riders. Loads of overtakes. KTM another win, and they are FAST.
Zarco looking good and making better race distance decisions than he used to. Honda in the waste land at the moment.
Mir showed some quality and yesterday he could not be held up by his team mate Rins, which seems to happen too often.

  3. Nowadays, it's always someone else's fault :)

    Great win by Oliveira!

  4. I totally agree with this.

I watched an interesting video interview of Zarco, yesterday, where he explains how they handle crashes. He says that crashing at 200 km/h has become pretty easy to sustain for him. His body is used to it, he’s fit enough to handle it without great problems. Now crashing at 300 km/h is a totally different ball game, he says. That you can’t get used to. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen too often.

These Moto racers are fecking aliens... :no_mouth:

  5. i've ready on another forum that someone had reviewed the footage before FQ got on the bike and he didn't have his leathers fully zipped up, the zip was below the covering flap so I would speculate that this was probably the cause of the issue. Over the race air would be getting inside his leathers and probably forcing the zip down due to inflation, air resistance.

  6. Call me harsh, but he should be happy it's only a 3 second penalty,

He could've slowed down, zip up and have a go at it after,

if he would've gotten a Black Flag that would be the fair and safe thing to do, he would've have no points.

He seemed pissed off because others complained but at the end of the day, regardless if that was an accident or deliberate they all need to realise it's dangerous and they should stop if that happens instead of throwing a tantrum that he lost some points, that's just immature.

Same is if they have a bike failure and they lose the race, it's just being unlucky, but in the video he clearly throwed the chest protector after the zip was open, that was deliberate from him.

unfortunately there is only one way to teach that and all riders are the same, world doesn't revolve around him and it applies to all the riders

on another note, what example does he give to other people ?

    Be a squid ?

  7. FQ loses his marbles the minute he gets pressurised. He's brilliant with clear track ahead but seems to lose composure when he has to dig in. Seems a bit of a fanny.

And if anyone whizzed past pit lane on any track day with their leathers fully open flapping in the breeze, they'd be black flagged quick sharp....

  9. Proper man stuff
To bad it's a taboo to show this these days

  10. Why is no one talking about m3?! Mental race. Mcphee slinging it up the road again - surely he’s gonna get sacked soon! About 15 into turn one abreast on the last lap....shoving and scraping and amazing racing!

  11. I prefer the M3 races to the main event, at points there is only about 2 or less seconds separating the top ten or even 15.

I’m sure his days are numbered........

  12. :joy::joy: Next gp he says he’s wearing a t shirt and shorts :joy::joy::laughing:

  14. I always like tuning into the last 5 laps for obvious reasons, as for McV it's time for that P45 in my opinion and lets get a another Brit on the saddle.

  15. The somewhat unusual incident has opened a debate about whether Quartararo should have been black flagged or disqualified, particularly when the wording in the regulation alludes to this, saying: “(The racing suit) 'must be worn, correctly fastened, at all times during on-track activity'.

FQ says his zip came undone on lap one. No matter what caused it or who’s fault it is ,and subsequently Alpinestars after investigation say the suit works fine, the rules say it’s a black flag offense, so the points should be deducted.

    And the controversy goes on...

On that pic, the side bulges seem to indicate an inflated airbag, some say. I am no specialist, just forwarding info from the US Ducati forum.

So, it may be an airbag malfunction, but penalty has been given and accepted, let’s move on, lest something bigger (safety wise) would arise.

  17. So, I am not sure now if the airbag went off, I think the motogp.com commentator said that. Sounded reasonable. FQ had an interview afterwards on motogp, tbh, that was not very clear either. But he did not seem to mention airbag...

Anyway, he has been penalised. Black flag? I can not see how you do that after the event.....

    moving on time.
