I found the best way is to put the spring on before fitting the bolt on that side. The stand itself then provided the necessary leverage
Tried that. Mine doesn't even get close. It's a struggle to get it straight enough to get the other side's peg started, much less pull it to this side. This spring must be brand new. Or something.
