The instruction manual certainly doesn't mention that the oil is magnetic, of which i have my doubts. However I took this off my previous bike (Suzuki 1050XT) which I did 7500 miles on. I only adjusted the chain once around the 600 mile mark where most new chain will stretch. I found that there was very little fling off and never suffered from oil on the side wall of the tyre. So my experience has been that it works very well. ( magnetic or not)
Interesting. I’ve had mine on from new and the chain has not needed adjustment since the first at 600 miles, though it’s only done about 2,000 to-date. However, in order to get enough flow to stop the chain looking dry, I’ve always experienced fling, particularly on the back of the license plate and occasionally on the sidewall of the tyre. I’m also concerned at how much may be accumulating behind the front sprocket cover.
I also have fling on the back of the license plate. But not on the tyre and the chain is always moist
